Job Summary

AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. This might involve guiding customers as they refactor an application or designing entirely new cloud-based systems.

Specialist SAs play a critical role in capturing customer feedback, advocating for roadmap enhancements, and anticipating customer requirements as they work backwards from their needs. As domain experts, SSAs also participate in field engagement and enablement, producing content such as whitepapers, blogs, and workshops for customers, partners, and the AWS Technical Field.

AWS Storage Specialist Solutions Architects combine technical skills in Storage, business acumen, and technical sales skills. They are focused on supporting customers throughout the engagement lifecycle and work closely with the teams that support implementation including AWS Professional Services and Partners. SSAs unblock customers and help them get to production faster. Job responsibilities

In this role, you will partner closely with the Storage Business Development and Sales teams to enable large-scale customer use cases and to help drive the adoption of AWS storage services. Thought leadership plays an important part in this role as you look for new ways to maximize value for our customers by establishing best practices and proposing enhancements and features for our storage services. As our portfolio of storage services continues to grow, you will leverage your passion for learning to come up to speed quickly. As an SME, you will be called upon frequently to present to customers and other AWS teams. To help our field teams understand how to integrate AWS storage options into customer architectures, you will also create field enablement materials for the broader SA population.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in solutions architecture or equivalent experience
  • Experience within storage technical pre-sales.
  • Experience in decision-maker engagement
  • Business fluent English and German


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • College/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Technical Cloud Certification
  • Proven ability to lead difficult projects with secure, scalable, reliable, and performant solutions outcomes
  • Deep understanding of design approaches and how to evaluate the combination of design options to meet a solution requirement
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to and learn new technologies quickly
  • Able to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences through verbal communication
  • Ability to influence customers, internal teams, and technology decisions to meet business objectives
