As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of AWS services directly with customers and our partners. Your broad responsibilities will include: owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects; defining implementation architectures; developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform; and being an technical advisor as it relates to customer applications and services.
As a Solutions Architect on our team, you will provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to our Government agencies, working closely with a world class sales and business development team. You will lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solution architect community. You will gain the opportunity to learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry today, across the breadth of enterprise architecture.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Serve as a key member of the account management and business development team in helping to ensure customer success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform;
Engage, Enable and Support partners in their technical implementation efforts in AWS;
Assist solution providers working with Government organizations to define and implement technical and business strategies that will enable them to sell more of their offerings on the AWS platform;
Develop and deliver compelling presentations, product demos, sample solutions, and discussions to drive awareness and adoption of Amazon Web Services in Chilean Government organizations;
Gain industry recognition and credibility as a regular attendee, panelist and keynote speaker at AWS and third-party technology conferences, trade shows and press events;
Capture and share best practice knowledge with the worldwide AWS solution architect community;
Understand the AWS market segments, customer base, and industry verticals in Chile;
Understand emerging technologies, such as Machine Learning, IoT and Serverless to help our customers to innovate.
The candidate will possess both technical and customer-facing skills that will allow them to be the technical owner of AWS within customers, partners and solution providers. He or she will be able to drive discussions with C-level personnel within an organization, as well as the technical background that enables him or her to easily interact and give guidance to software developers, operations, IT professionals and architects. The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
The right person will:
Be highly technical and analytical, possess significant experience of software development and/or infrastructure and networking implementation;
Have knowledge in architecting, deploying, troubleshooting, and the operation of highly scalable solutions. Past experience working directly in customer implementations is highly desirable;
Have strong verbal and written communications skills in English and Spanish, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organisations and virtual teams;
Have executive speaking and presentation skills - including experience delivering formal presentations (to both large and small groups) and white-boarding sessions;
Have the ability to travel as required;
The right person will:
Have proved experience within the software development or internet industries;
Have a working knowledge of modern software practices and technologies such as agile methodologies and DevOps;
Have experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud;
Have a technical degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related field. Advanced Degree is a plus.
Have familiarity with common enterprise solutions from Microsoft, VMware and Oracle;
Be AWS-certified (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Associate). Previous working experience with AWS is a plus, but not required;
Past experience writing and publishing technical white papers;
