As an AWS Senior Software Development Engineer, you will solve complex security challenges at a massive scale. We work with data from millions of sources, in support of hundreds of AWS teams. Senior Software Development Engineers are hands-on individual contributors that act as technical leaders for their teams. You will design software solutions, solve ambiguous technical problems, and elevate and coach junior developers. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years of professional development experience in one or more the following languages: C++, Java, JavaScript, C#, Python
• 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
• 2+ years of experience building distributed web-based applications or services across multiple programming languages.
• Experience developing cloud software services and an understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's Degree or Ph D. in Computer Science or related field.
• Proficiency in software system design and analysis of algorithms and data structures.
• Experience coaching junior developers.
• Experience in security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, or application security.
• Experience delivering solutions using AWS products, such as DynamoDB, S3, SQS/SNS, Lambda, Elastic Search & EC2.
• Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role
• Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
