Sellers are a critical part of Amazon's ecosystem to deliver on our vision of offering the Earth's largest selection and lowest prices. These Sellers offer hundreds of millions of unique products providing a broad and diverse inventory of products from Books, Electronics and Apparel to Consumables and beyond. In our vision to build a global marketplace, we will enable Sellers to list, make their selection available to customers globally while optimizing their inventory placement across multiple countries.
As Senior Program Manager, Strategy & Operations for EU Marketplace, you will lead a work stream to manage strategy and operations for a product roll out for a complex regulatory change "Deemed Reseller" that will occur in EU in 2021. Deemed Reseller affects over half million of our non EU SPs and is a historic change in the way taxes will be collected and remitted by online marketplaces in the future.You will have a wide ranging scope and application to understand the end-to-end world of Marketplace business including product development, policy with EU Governments, strategy, customer and selling partner incentives and mindsets.
As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for laying out the vision to roll out product and operations changes for this law in EU. You will overseeing all aspects of program management including building metrics to measure and track customer and seller reactions, financial and operational metrics and corrective action plans. You will be supported by a team of on-ground associates across multiple geographies to execute your plan. You will work across a cross functional team in product, operation and finance across EU and China. .
You should be comfortable working in highly ambiguous environment. Ownership of work is extremely important, and candidates should have a proven record of working with projects to their completion. The ideal candidate is motivated, agile, with strong time management and project management skills. This opportunity requires excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills. The key responsibilities for this role include:
₋ Build strategy and metrics for tracking launch performance
₋ Drive operational excellence by setting clear direction and expectations for performance. Establish performance targets for operation teams and measure actual performance with regard to Customer Service support and quality, Team efficiency and Cost. Take appropriate and timely corrective action if negative trends begin to emerge.
₋ Provide leadership direction on process improvements, address obstacles and interact with other areas of the company to assist team in overcoming problems and streamlining the work process as part of a structured continuous improvement program.
₋ Measure Improvements and impact of changes and set-up mechanisms to audit impact and perform necessary course corrections where needed to meet business objective
₋ Coordinate and prioritize a new work requests coming to operation team(s), establish intake and prioritization process
₋ Conduct regular meetings with team(s) to triage issues and drive process, product and policy improvements.
₋ Assist in interviewing and recruiting candidates.
• BS or BA in computer science, engineering, math, finance, or economics
• 5+ years of Strong Operational Leadership experience
• Team orientation and willingness to roll up sleeves to solve complex, dynamic challenges
• Strong relationships building skills; experience managing stakeholders and partners to drive cross functional programs
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with different functional groups, developers, business owners, and senior business leaders
• Ability to collaborate with and effectively influence remote teams in multiple time zones
• MBA from a leading business school
• Intermediate to advance knowledge of data analysis and ability to derive insights from large data sets
• Entrepreneurial spirit, with track record for delivering results in fast-moving and demanding environments
• History of developing business strategy and operations in conjunction with senior leadership
