Senior Program Manager, Global Security Compliance and Validation

The Senior Program Manager, Global Security Compliance and Validation, leads a team that is responsible for building, maintaining, and continuously improving upon our Security Risk Review (SR2) audit program and our Site Security Facilitator (SSF) Training. They are a key member of the Global Security Operations Team and reports to the Senior Manager, Security Operations and Support. A successful candidate will be a hands-on manager who, along with their team, will be responsible for enhancing current programs as well as developing and implementing new programs that will assess and audit all operational Amazon, Amazon Affiliate and relevant 3rd party vendors sites to validate compliance with our security policies as well as the effectiveness of those policies, and our physical security system. This Manager will ensure that each site has a designated Associate that has been provided with training and is certified on the understanding of our security standards/policies as well as how to perform related inspections, testing and audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishes and implements effective, predictable and measurable procedures, processes, and metrics for team
  • Ensures proper support and effective cooperation with the Global Security Operations, Regional Security and Operational teams around the world
  • Ensures that the program and related operating costs are within budget
  • Guides and supports the teams Program Managers to ensure that clear standards, goals, objectives, and service level agreement (SLA's) on performance delivery outcomes and timelines are established, agreed to, and delivered on ensuring the required quality of personnel and performance
  • Demonstrates strong organization skills to ensure timely delivery of weekly, quarterly, and annual metrics, and to validate that sites apply required mitigating controls, and implement proper action plans to address identified risks in a timely manner
  • Builds and deploys automated and in-person class room training programs for all internal and external users as well as partnering with global security, software, security systems, operations teams and other internal customer to deliver adhoc and agreed upon projects
  • Researches, develops, designs and tests a variety of software, equipment, products and systems with the goal of fully optimizing and leverage our investments

  • A completed Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent professional exerience
  • 5+ years project management experience leading projects with tight deadlines that involve the use of automated and manual systems and supporting internal customers across the globe
  • 3+ years working in a customer service driven environment
  • Strong skills and experience managing operational security audit programs
  • Customer focused and results oriented manager that possesses strong influencing skill and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment
  • Comfortable being a hands-on manager that actively acquires knowledge of and the ability to demonstrate the effective use of established and leading edge technology, software, processes, critical information and data
  • Experience in writing design specifications and standards, technical manuals and procedures, and developing and delivering training programs
  • Proven ability to identify necessary metrics, implement data collections mechanisms, analyze data and make recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to Key Stakeholders and large training groups in-person or remotely
  • Strong ideation development skills, including business case, charter and requirements gathering/validation development experience
  • Experience managing vendors and onsite vendor resources, including contract negotiations and service level agreements
  • Excellent skills utilizing SharePoint, Excel (pivot tables a plus), and Word
  • 25% travel required (includes international); may increase at times

  • MBA or Master's in a related field
  • Experience with develop and conducting operational physical security audits
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to Key Stakeholders, senior leaders and large training groups in-person or remotely
  • Analytical leader experienced in performance based, action and results oriented management, strong project manager and effective problem-solver
  • Customer focused and results oriented manager that possesses strong influencing skill and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment
  • Strong business and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma Concepts
  • Familiarity with database querying and analysis
