Senior Program Manager

The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for creation and evaluation of critical processes for the Amazon Air business. Working with internal business partners, you will observe and diagnose air processes, identify improvement opportunities, communicate real-time events, Learn & Be Curious about ways to improve current operations to make generational improvements, prescribe improvement strategies, and ultimately assist in transformation efforts. In doing so you will be a key contributor to standard work. Your observations, projects, and efforts will help guide the design and construction of the most customer-centric air operation in the world. Through data analysis, modelling, collaboration with internal stakeholders and industry research, you will contribute to the future design of an optimal Amazon Air transportation network.
Preferred locations: Luxembourg or Germany (Leipzig).

• Recommend and implement changes to safety procedures, work methods, and labor standards
• Project management from conception to completion
• Conduct and lead project meetings with Sr. Management
• Assessing and optimizing the processes and equipment used in air operations
• Assist in reviewing proposals for new equipment and servicesa
• Work directly with internal customers/partners identifying required network capacity and constraints
• Collect and interpret operating cost data
• Analyze and recommend optimal network solutions for peak and non-peak periods
• Pull and report data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) and to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as required
• Evaluate flight schedules to determine operational impacts; partnering with internal business units to effectively manage refinement of the network
• Create and own labor models to support sort, tug transportation, and ramp operations
• Process re-engineering from operations at the airport looking for the best balance between speed, quality and cost
• Calculate ground support equipment (GSE) needs at regular intervals
• Spearheading ramp layout/design and partner with external consultants on detailed design reviews

• A completed Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited university
• Demonstrated leadership in aviation operations context
• Experience within the airfreight industry, including but not limited to: airport/ground handling, customs processes and procedures, intermodal and trucking line haul carrier management.
• Familiarity with commercial aviation industry regulations, standards, and guidelines
• Experience building processes within the logistics environment
• Experience managing large capital projects
• 5+ years' experience using Kaizens and LEAN tools
• Experience using and communicating performance metrics
• Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and MS Project) and AutoCAD
• Strong data mining skills including ability to use SQL and database programs.
• Some travel may be required


• Experience with FC, SC, or logistics operations
• Proven ability to influence others without having positional authority
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must
• Ability to Think Big and develop innovative ideas for process challenges
• MBA or Master's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
• Demonstrated use of analytical skills to solve engineering problems
• Computer programming skills as an added bonus
• Ability to work with all levels of Associates and Mangers
