Senior Product Manager - AWS Observability
- Seattle, WA
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is home to massive technologies that fuel hundreds of thousands of businesses in 190 countries around the world. We are seeking a talented and seasoned product manager to drive a new AWS service, working in the intersection of open-source and hyper scale cloud services.
This is a unique opportunity to come in on the ground floor and define the direction of a strategic AWS service from initial design to GA and beyond. We are looking for a broad and deep leader who will own and drive product management across a range of monitoring, observability (metrics, logs, traces), and rich visualization. As a Product Manager (Technical), you will own product development from strategy/product vision through feature definition, prioritization, positioning, naming, and GTM/adoption. We are looking for experienced product managers who are passionate about solving customer problems, and who have demonstrated success working backwards from ambiguous customer needs, translating them into disruptive, successful products that delight customers.
Working closely with and across agile teams, you will be able to see and feel the impact of your work on our customers. This is a high visibility and high impact role that will interact with all levels of AWS leadership. Our ideal candidate is excited about the incredible opportunity cloud computing represents and is deeply passionate about delivering the highest quality services. You're naturally customer centric and thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires strong technical and business judgment and solid communication skills.
Do you have a unique combination of deep technical knowledge, business acumen, and strong interpersonal skills to help us drive the success of CloudWatch and Amazon Web Services (AWS) monitoring solutions? Are you passionate about cloud computing and open source technologies with a special focus on application performance, infrastructure monitoring, log analytics, and observability?
In this position, you will play a pivotal role defining product requirements, go-to-market strategy, and tirelessly champion the needs of our customers. This role will require coordination across many internal and external teams and will be visible at the highest levels of the company. You'll work with our customers, partners, software vendors, and operational stakeholders to prioritize roadmap features, and spearhead the definition of new capabilities through expertly crafted business requirements documents. The successful candidate must have exceptional problem-solving skills, strong business judgment, and demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams. We are looking for a proven ability to execute both strategically and tactically, and someone who is excited to take on new, ambiguous projects that will be industry defining. This position requires a solid technical background, and the candidate should be customer-focused with a passion for interactive data visualization and cloud services. Past experience in observability and cloud native technologies is a plus, but not required.
Our team puts a high value on work-life balance. Most days, our entire team is co-located in the Seattle office, but we're also flexible when people occasionally need to work from home. We generally keep core in-office hours from 10am to 4pm. About half of us come in earlier and the other half of us stay later.
This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every two months. We don't like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don't get paged for the same issue twice.
Mentorship & Career Growth

Our team has a broad mix of experience levels and Amazon tenures, and we're building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. We care about your career growth. We try to assign projects and tasks based on what will help each team member develop into a better-rounded engineer and enable them to take on more complex tasks in the future.
