Senior Marketing Communications Manager

Description

AWS Elemental, an Amazon Web Services company that combines deep video expertise with the power and scale of the cloud, is seeking a dedicated Senior Marketing Communications Manager to join our corporate communications team. The ideal candidate will combine a talent and passion for writing with applicable work experience in a Business to Business (B2B) setting. You will have the requisite writing, content creation and PR agency experience to communicate technical concepts in outbound marketing vehicles that drive audience engagement, earned coverage and lead generation.

Basic Qualifications

  • Stay informed of key trends in streaming video infrastructure market
  • Maintain understanding of key competitors' positioning and messaging
  • Play a key role in development of annual communications program plans as well as communications plans for new services and other major announcements
  • Play a key role in developing annual budgets for marketing and communications programs
  • Support director of communications, director of publicity and/or CMO in planning and developing internal or commissioned market research
  • Support campaign and program planning for content marketing, web site, demand generation and lead nurturing programs
  • Direct content marketing strategy and implement best practices to define and implement an effective buyer journey through content engagement
  • Support development and oversight of reporting processes measuring outputs and effectiveness of marketing communications functions
  • Lead and/or contribute to development of marketing narratives that capture go-to-market strategies, joint marketing initiatives and marketing campaign approaches
  • Develop press announcements, media alerts and blog posts promoting business news, new services, customer wins and successes, and other news as required, as well as supporting press-facing materials that accompany major announcements
  • Contribute to media and analyst relations strategies and develop related planning materials in support of PR function, with an emphasis on major announcements and publicity events
  • Provides qualification and sourcing of prospective customer references for development of marketing communications and PR content assets
  • Provide management and mentorship to communications team, delegating and managing tasks while maintaining productive "dotted-line" reporting relationships
  • Provide oversight and editorial review for AWS Elemental community platforms, including newsletter, blog and social media channels
  • Oversee AWS Elemental web site content, focused on ensuring site stays current and aligned with outputs of content marketing program as well as brand and solutions messaging
  • Define editorial direction and provides oversight of internal and external contributors for development of written and video case studies and customer testimonials, white papers, application/solutions briefs, web site content and other communications assets
  • Serve as copywriter and publisher of short- and long-form communications content as needed
  • Collaborate with digital marketing team on development of outbound communications assets, ensuring consistency in positioning, messaging and outbound marketing strategies
  • Collaborate with lead generation team to ensure effective execution of content marketing strategy across demand generation and lead nurturing programs
  • Manage relationships with and work of external vendors for content creation, such as copywriters, technical writers and digital marketing providers
  • Exercise exemplary editorial judgment in all marketing communications programs under her/his oversight
  • Perform quality assurance of outbound work product by reviewing and editing materials for accuracy and consistency

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years' global technology marketing experience, including experience in B2B cloud services
  • Experience managing and executing media and analyst relations programs for B2B technology brands
  • Experience managing and executing paid advertising and demand generation programs for B2B technology brands
  • Experience managing and executing paid and organic social media programs for B2B technology brands
  • Experience managing and executing lead nurturing programs for B2B technology brands
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work easily in cross-functional teams and to communicate clearly to stakeholders including customers and partners
  • Demonstrated self-starting initiative, interest, ability and energy to work in a fast-paced environment and in the absence of specific directives
  • High degree of fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in the video industry and understanding of video technology
  • Familiarity with CMS and a basic understanding of HTML
  • Familiarity with Marketo marketing automation
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Experience managing direct and "dotted-line" reports
