Senior Manager Transfer Pricing Valuations

Description

Amazon's Tax Department is seeking a senior manager for its transfer pricing team to focus on business and asset valuation analyses performed as part of acquisitions, restructurings, and other projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of valuation techniques as well as familiarity with transfer pricing and accounting concepts related to valuations. The candidate should be comfortable directly liaising with various business and accounting teams within the company, with other members of the global tax department, and with outside advisors.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with TP M&A Director on or ownership of various valuation analyses on a global basis, including the impact of various transfer pricing relationships
  • Partnering with other in TP on valuation needs and working with Accounting to ensure consistency in valuation approaches and asset definitions
  • Partnering with outside advisors on method selection, assumptions, and the preparation of reports, or performing certain valuations and preparing supporting documentation in-house depending on the project needs
  • Assisting TP M&A Director with TP integrations and ongoing TP support for the acquired companies
  • Building relationships across multiple teams within Amazon to foster a collaborative and productive working relationship

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in business and asset valuations and sufficient exposure to transfer pricing
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferred in Economics, Finance, Accounting or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree, such as a MA/MS, MBA, or PhD preferred
  • Public accounting, consulting and/or multinational corporation experience required
  • Ability to extract, analyze, and review data and make appropriate recommendations
  • Detail-oriented individual who is self-motivated and takes ownership of projects
  • Hard working, quick learner with a positive ''can do'' attitude and solid professionalism
  • Work effectively in a team environment and partner well with people at all levels within an organization
  • Able to work in a dynamic, fast paced, informal, often ambiguous and rapidly changing business environment
  • Effective and fluent English verbal & written communication skills
  • Experience with valuations of business entities and intangible assets, purchase price allocations, goodwill and long lived asset impairment, and financial analysis and research
  • Solid understanding of accounting, financial statement analysis and financial modeling
  • Advanced analytical and computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and Word
