The Amazon Devices team designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics, including the best-selling Kindle family of products. We have also produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Dash, and Amazon Echo.

What will you help us create?

As an Imaging Architect, you will develop architectures for hardware-accelerated image and video processing for Amazon devices. You will analyze and optimize algorithms for applications in image processing, display, computer vision and robotics. You will define architecture models, analyze implementations and make hardware/software tradeoffs. You will collaborate with product managers, machine learning, SoC and software architects.

In this role you will:
• Be part of a team of architects developing advanced imaging and video solutions for Amazon device products
• Analyze the latest video and image processing algorithms to define architectures for image processing accelerators.
• Develop C-based architectural models to be used for system architecture exploration and hardware validation.
• Work closely with system and hardware engineers to develop solutions that optimize for area, performance and power.


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years' experience in video or image processing algorithms including scaling, mapping and image enhancement
• Experience developing C/C++ models for architecture analysis and design validation
• Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts


• Experience developing with modern programming languages (Python, Java, C/C++), open-source technologies, and Linux.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
• Experience with machine learning and vision based deep learning models
• Experience with video compression algorithms
