Senior Business Development Manager

Description

The Subscribe with Amazon team is seeking an innovative, entrepreneurial, results-oriented team player to develop and manage relationships with key partners including identifying potential partners, negotiating terms, and working with partners to grow their business on Amazon. The individual will be responsible for conceiving and executing new business models – this role is the ideal combination for anyone who loves not only creating a strategy, but implementing it. Other responsibilities will include establishing key business metrics, devising and executing competitive benchmarking, identifying new business opportunities, and working with Product Leads to invent new program features for both consumers and publishers.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of delivering results, initiating process improvement, finding a way to work through barriers, and displaying excellent business judgment. A successful candidate will have experience working with external publishers, excellent verbal and written communication skills, a strong sense of self-motivation, great follow-up and vendor management skills, the ability to learn quickly, and the ability to deliver results.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships and marketing deals that drive competitive advantage, delight customers, and support strategic objectives
  • Develop a strategy for partner outreach for both large and small companies
  • Evaluate the economic and strategic costs and benefits of partnerships and work with appropriate leaders and across all functional areas of Amazon to execute on the relationships
  • Create educational / sales materials and partner incentives
  • Prepare and conduct business reviews to the senior management team
  • Identify key partner needs to help inform product development

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in business development, vendor management and/or consulting with a proven history of delivering results
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with track record of delivering measurable results in fast-moving environments
  • Highly polished communication skills - speaking, writing, presenting and negotiating
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent business judgment

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA preferred
  • Experience in new business models and/or subscription businesses
  • Ability to operate simultaneously and effectively in both tactical and strategic modes
  • Ambitious self-starter with demonstrated ability and willingness to roll up sleeves to get the job done
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, innovative, and rapidly evolving industry and business organization
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with track record of delivering measurable results in fast-moving environments
