SDE3 / Technical Architect - Innovating SnS @Amazon

Bangalore, India

DESCRIPTION

"If you want to be successful in business (in life, actually), you have to create more than you consume. Your goal should be to create value for everyone you interact with. Any business that doesn't create value for those it touches, even if it appears successful on the surface, isn't long for this world. It's on the way out." - Jeff Bezos

Let's break it down for our Subscribe and Save (SnS) customers. SnS customers do not have to visit amazon.com (http://amazon.com/) or any physical store to make a purchase - your regular needs are auto-delivered at your doorstep at the time and frequency of your choosing. If you assume that a typical Amazon purchase takes 15 minutes and that it saves you a couple of trips to a physical store a week, thats a lot of hours saved in a year. Similarly, if we assume a typical household spends $500 a month on replensible items and assuming a 10% discount on all SnS purchases thats an additional saving of $600 per year.

With SnS, our vision is to offer our worldwide customers recurring auto-deliveries of any replenishable item, at any frequency. SnS saves customers time and money on the replenishable items they purchase every day and in-turn creates long-term, loyal customers for sellers. It's a win-win situation for both customers and sellers. To achieve this vision, we have to ensure that all replenishable selection at Amazon is available for SnS purchase, sellers offer compelling discounts and deliveries are received by customers as promised. While the SnS program has continued to grow at more than 100% rate across all parameters over the last couple of years we will have to not only continue this growth pattern but also to improve upon it to match the same level of sales as all replenishable items on Amazon.

We are, therefore, looking for software development engineers who are passionate about using technology to solve business problems that have big impact to the Amazon marketplace. You will contribute to accelerating Amazon's flywheel by building new products and features for our selling partners (both 3P and 1P).

You will have the opportunity to work across an end-to-end stack that ranges from distributed big-data pipelines, complex asynchronous processing systems to customer and selling partner facing front-end experiences operating on multiple devices (Desktop, Mobile, 3P APIs). You will be working in an agile environment with balanced focus on incremental as well as radical innovation.

If this sounds interesting, we look forward to hearing from you and chatting about next steps.
