Regulatory Change Compl Mgr, Amazon Pharmacy

DESCRIPTION

Amazon's Pharmacy Compliance team is seeking a Regulatory Change Management PM to create and manage the regulatory change management process. As the single threaded owner, the Regulatory Change Management PM will have the opportunity to build a foundational element of the compliance team from the ground up. Amazon pharmacy will rely on this person to stay informed of relevant regulations, understand how they apply to the Amazon Pharmacy and hold teams accountable to implementing changes accordingly. A successful candidate in this role will be a self starter and be excited about starting with a blank slate and building out this function. This person should also be able to partner well with external stakeholders (e.g., regulatory agencies) as well as internal stakeholders (e.g., pharmacy operations and business teams). They must have strong communication skills to explain the new regulations and the desire to learn the current business operations. This individual will work closely with the product and tech teams to provide guardrails to support the pharmacy operating system. This individual must be able to think big and be creative to deliver results. You should be a self-motivated individual interested in the pharmacy business and able to work both independently and collaboratively. As part of this team you will be expected to consistently raise the high bar of compliance and operational excellence as we rapidly grow, scale, and innovate and ultimately make Amazon Pharmacy the most customer-centric pharmacy on Earth.

Key job responsibilities
Monitor Pharmacy regulatory agencies for relevant changes through research and relationships with regulatory agencies.

Develop a thorough understanding of the meaning, intent, timing, and nuances of regulatory changes to be able to explain them to the business.

Partner with Amazon Pharmacy's business and legal teams to assess regulatory changes and associated impact.

Collaborate with business teams, including product and tech, to design an implementation plan that meets the needs of new regulations.

Track implementation process to ensure timely completion of projects and that the final product meets the regulatory requirements.

Document the regulatory change management process from start to finish.

Present reports to internal leadership on regulatory changes and Amazon Pharmacy's response

May occasionally be asked to attend meetings of regulatory agencies.

Assess current business workflows, identify gaps and propose workflows to remediate or meet regulatory or compliance business needs

A day in the life
Review meeting minutes, notes, online tools, emails, and other resources to identify new regulation changes.

Draft detailed written explanations of regulatory changes to be shared with relevant internal stakeholders.

Partner with legal to evaluate new laws and regulatory changes and document impact to Amazon Pharmacy.

Meet with the business to understand current processes and communicate how regulatory change will impact the current business model.

Assist the business in drafting a plan to comply with new regulations

Monitor and update a tracking system to indicate the status of regulation implementation and the status of the business team's plan to comply.

Report work to leadership levels to provide an understanding of changes in the regulatory landscape and associated business requirements.

Consult product and tech on the many regulations applicable to the business while helping to design and maintain the pharmacy operating system.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

-Pharmacy Degree from accredited School of Pharmacy or experience at a Pharmacy organization in regulatory or compliance

-Pharmacy License in good standing 3+ years pharmacy compliance, regulatory management, or operations

-Knowledge of pharmacy regulations and laws

-Aptitude for building strong working relationships Proven organization skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities

-Strong written and verbal communication

-Attention to detail and thorough documentation practices

-Willingness to travel up to 30%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

-Bachelor's Degree or Doctorate in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy

-Pharmacy operations experience

-Loss prevention experience

-Deep understanding of regulations governing the Pharmacy industry, especially Controlled Substances

-Experience with data analytics and data based decision-making

-Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

-Detail oriented and organized

-Demonstrated ability to deliver results

-Comfortable running meetings with stakeholders

-Aptitude for building strong working relationships

-Self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision

-Proven ability to manage competing priorities.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
