EAP (Environmental Assurance & Protection)チームでは、西日本リージョンを担当するリージョナル環境マネージャーを募集しています。AmazonのFC(物流センター)やDS(配送センター)等施設の環境管理を、サイトの関係者はじめ、施設チームやWHSチームと協力連携の上、推進していただきます。また、日本における環境法規制の遵守徹底に向け、中央政府、および地方政府とも協力連携をします。

リージョナル環境マネージャーは、担当リージョンにおける複数の既存サイトの環境課題に取り組み、解決するだけでなく、新規サイトの立ち上げに伴う環境管理体制の立ち上げ、整備を牽引していただきます。事業拡大が急速に進む、変動性が高く、不確実、かつ複雑、曖昧な環境で自立して業務を推進できることが求められます。

リージョナル環境マネージャーには、環境法規制のSME(専門家)であることに加えて、物事が急速に展開する環境の中で、多数の関係者と英語と日本語で円滑にコミュニケーションを取りながら、業務やプロジェクトをスピーディ、かつ的確に推進することが求められます。環境法規制のSMEとして、FCやDS等サイトの運営管理者に対して、環境に関わる法規制の理解と、遵守に向けた方針やプロセスについて教育、研修を行い、施策の実行支援をします。環境管理プログラムの推進、監査の実施、危険廃棄物の処理プロセス管理監督を行うと同時に、新しい取り組みも企画、実行します。SOP(標準作業手順)、リスク分析、コンプライアンス評価に焦点を置き、継続的にプロセスの改善、標準化、効率化を行い、ベストプラクティスを実践します。

リージョナル環境マネージャーは、日本のオペレーションの一員として日本で活動しますが、グローバルのEAPチームに所属しEAPチームのマネージャーにレポートします。

Our team is seeking an experienced Environmental Professional who will be responsible for collaborating and partnering with regional and site operations leadership teams, WHS, facilities and other site level teams to execute company environmental procedures and ensure compliance with all National, Prefectural and Local regulations in Japan. The role will be responsible for ensuring strategy and operational tactics are executed for either the West regional JP operations by providing technical support for existing operations and future expansion in an ambiguous, fast-paced environmental across multiple facilities and business units within this region. This role will be based at an operations location or virtual and will report through the Amazon Worldwide Environmental Assurance and Protection Field Operations team. This individual must instruct and train Operations Leaders on company environmental standards and procedures and assist the regional teams in incorporating our environmental processes at their site. The successful candidate will lead in rolling out environmental programs, assist with internal audit protocols, ensure hazmat waste compliance processes and support change initiatives / new launches within the region. By focusing on standards & procedures, risk assessments and compliance evaluations, this individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives to minimize environmental aspects and impacts and implement best practices.

The ideal candidate must be able to work successfully in a fast-paced environment, be an effective communicator in both English & Japanese and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. They must possess proficiency in program and environmental regulatory knowledge and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), and demonstrate this expertise when partnering with teams throughout the operations. They must communicate environmental expectations and give frequent and appropriate feedback to the site teams and ensure they are executing to the core competencies of an Amazon environmental professional.

This position will directly report to JP Environmental Leader.

Responsibilities
• Possess a thorough understanding of local, prefecture and national laws and regulations and company standards
• Manage and execute multi-site responsibilities to comply with air emissions, stormwater, waste, wastewater, and other environmental related laws, regulations and permits, which includes National and local reporting (as needed)
• Support with creation of Country Level Environmental procedures to ensure operational strategy is delivered
• Support with environmental programs' implementation at a site-level
• Monitor the allocated region's performance against applicable environmental regulations, programs and procedures
• Develop and maintain a customer obsessed relationship with business partners (at both site and regional level) to support their success in environmental compliance and performance
• Monitor and provide guidance on site performance against applicable environmental regulations, programs and Amazon global policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies
• Analyze environmental metrics and review weekly and monthly trends to determine the appropriate allocation of resources to manage performance and risks
• Influence and mentor EHS staff in assigned buildings and sites
• Provide environmental guidance and oversight to other departments as necessary
• Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy. Audit the quality, delivery (including qualifications of the trainer), and effectiveness of all required environmental training
• Responsible to set up the environmental regulatory and Amazon program tasks in the company environmental management system, track them to closure, and ensure they are current
• Insist on the highest standards to ensure protection of business risks
• Oversee work performed by relevant contractors and consultants at existing and new building launches.
• Partner with operations, special projects and support teams in supporting the change management process
• Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed in a timely manner
• Conduct risk assessments and audits as necessary
• Establish project milestones for plan development and permitting at new launch locations or site expansions, including the Environmental Program Assessments (EPA)
• Assist sites with recordkeeping and periodic reviews to ensure record retention requirements are met
• Ensure equipment that requires environmental preventative maintenance (PM) is appropriately logged and tracked
• Assist sites with action plan development for any deficiencies noted from trends, audits and inspections
• Show initiative to identify and implement corrective actions to eliminate any observed non-compliance or potential non-compliance situations
• Facilitate thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective actions for network implementation
• Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 化学や環境科学、工学、経営、その他関連分野の学士号
• 環境分野における実務経験6年以上
• 日本の環境法規制の知識
• 日本における、空気、水、廃棄物処理の課題、リスク分析、環境コンプライアンスに関わるプログラムを推進、管理した経験
• 高度な日本語力と英語力 (読み書き、およびスピーキング)
• サイトリーダーやリージョナルリーダーと円滑にコミュニケーションが取れること

• 認可取得等、規制機関の対応経験

• A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Environmental Science / Engineering / Management or other environmental related field of study
• Preferable 6+ years of experience as an environmental technical resource, program specialist or program manager
• In depth knowledge of JP environmental legislations (National & Prefectural)
• Experience in managing and complex environmental programs for air, waste, and water and JP regulatory risk assessments and permitting needs
• Fluent in English and Japanese
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese, including comfort interfacing with site and regional leaders
• Demonstrate a level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and achieve results
• Experience in engaging with Regulatory Agency in permit applications
• Experience in managing change in multiple site environment and ability to influence peers and superiors
• Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, directions and strategy
• Proven track record of sound decision making, taking ownership and delivering results
• Must be willing to travel 50% or greater

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• ISO 14000 or equivalent auditing experience preferred
• Experience in logistics is preferred
• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability
• Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics
• Ability to manage multiple sites / remotely
