Project Manager - Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance

Description

Amazon seeks a motivated self-starter to join the Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance (ERMC) team. Amazon has a diverse set of global businesses, and each business has some level of compliance requirements across multiple areas. While the responsibility for maintaining compliance is with the individual business areas, this team ensures that an effective ERMC program is in place to validate each business has identified their regulatory responsibilities and established effective processes and controls to understand current status of compliance and identify gaps. This team also assists in mitigation of gaps identified throughout the organization.

As the ERMC Project Manager, you will lead a variety of projects with significant scope and impact supporting several different areas of the business. In this role, you will work to deliver value to the customer, meeting the scope, budget and timeline of the effort. Projects will be cross-functional and require strong communication skills to coordinate onsite and remote work with teams across the globe. You will coordinate with ERMC management in the development of risk service standards and other efforts that enable operations. You will be responsible for end-to-end project management.

Key responsibilities of the position are:

  • Develop and manage projects from beginning to end, including project scope, timeline, capacity planning, resource allocation, and project execution.
  • Provide project management and direction to ensure the project team has a clear understanding of timelines, risks, escalation path and roles/responsibilities they will undertake within the project team.
  • Act as an escalation point for the project team and project stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage change control and communicate impact in project scope, identify issues, and devising contingency plans.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to businesses regarding compliance requirements.
  • Work with businesses and their respective business owners, project managers and technical teams to drive compliance requirements through implementation.
  • Tailor documentation and communication to tech and business management.
  • Identify opportunities for optimization of risk programs.

This position is based on Seattle, WA.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years relevant compliance project and program management experience
  • 3-5 years of experience international regulatory compliance, OFAC, sanctions, fraud risk management, operational risk management, information security or other risk/compliance-related fields
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management professional certification (PMI, APM, IPMA, etc.)
  • Experience driving cross functional initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with client communications and client management
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and excellent problem solving skills
  • Flexibility/ability to change/adapt based on changing priorities
