The Alexa Applied Modeling and Data Science (AMDS) team is looking for a Program Manager who will help build our partner network so we can extend our services to reach customers in new locales and languages. You will work with Research Science teams to understand their pain points, and create solutions to address them at scale. This program manager will focus on identifying new vendors, developing existing relationships to broaden service offerings, and onboarding participants to specialized workflows and quality assurance programs. The vendors will provide a range of services in support of Natural Language Processing, data collection and labeling for artificial intelligence models, and other linguistic services.
Reporting to the partner engagement manager for AMDS, responsibilities of this role will include sourcing, testing, and onboarding translators and linguists. They will also assist with management and communication of quality and other performance metrics.

Coordinate projects for localization, data collection, and text annotation
Assist with vendor relationship management such as purchase order processing and invoice reconciliation
Coordinate language fluency test evaluation and manage results
Build a thorough understanding of data labeling conventions, and develop documentation for partners
Liaison with technical team for onboarding of new workers
Collate data for metrics dashboard and other business reports
Deliver high quality work under aggressive deadlines, working autonomously with minimal direction
Support several projects at one time and accept reprioritization as necessary
Understand and exemplify the Amazon leadership principles
• Bachelor's Degree
• 2+ years experience in program or project management
Knowledge of localization or data collection/annotation workflows
Some business analytics proficiency and experience with procurement and rate negotiation
Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and learn in-house data processing tools
Passion for language and strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong math and advanced excel skills
Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders
Advanced degree in linguistics
Professional working proficiency in a second language
Some experience with SQL, and scripting languages
Experience as a translator/localization operations manager
Deep appreciation of the variations in global cultures
