Program Manager, Amazon Prime Now Delivery Strategy


Amazon is looking for a Program Manager with a strong delivery record and proven project management experience to own strategic, tactical, cross-functional and technology projects within Amazon's Prime Now team. Prime Now is Amazon's 1-2 Hour delivery program, spanning across delivery from Amazon warehouses and delivery from local grocery stores in select cities worldwide.

The role requires scoping and creating project plans, developing processes, coordinating and driving execution, and communicating to senior management on status, risks, and process/product changes. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive presentation skills are essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with other teams to source, allocate and coordinate resources
  • Managing and delivering results on complex projects across multiple organizations
  • Gathering and analyzing data to support hypothesis/identify new opportunities
  • Creating, communicating and managing budget for projects
  • Innovating to improve processes and continuously removing cost from operations

A successful candidate will also demonstrate:

  • High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired
  • Analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
  • Ability to clearly communicate data insights to others
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality
  • Demonstrated ability to dive deep in understanding the product, our business, and the competitive landscape

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Business, Operations, etc.) or 2+ years' Amazon experience
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Databases, SQL
  • Work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA/MS and work experience in dedicated project management is highly desired
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Visual Basic programming language and Excel query and script creation are a plus
  • Prior experience or use of PMP/Lean
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills complemented with the ability to problem solve independently
