Principal Technical Sourcing Manager - Compute Server Hardware

The Principal Tech Sourcing Manager will lead AWS Compute Hardware Sourcing Strategy to support AWS Global Cloud Infrastructure. Successful candidates will bring strong knowledge of Processors and Graphics accelerators, and proven ability to drive product roadmaps from concept through mass production. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop CPU, GPU, FPGA and ASICs Sourcing Strategy for AWS Infrastructure
  • Identify key technology and market trends across the industry, drive tech product roadmaps that maximize TCO, and execute on strategic initiatives in those products by partnering with Supply Chain, Engineering and Internal customers (EC2, EBS, DB)
  • Develop negotiations strategies to deliver against business objectives and achieve sustainable relationship with lead technology suppliers (i.e. Intel, NVidia, AMD)
  • Negotiate and implement complex vendor agreements that may involve IP, technology, supply assurance and cost models by working with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Deliver executive level updates ( verbal and written) on a periodic basis, and responsible for vendor escalations in order to resolve any issues related to his/her category
  • Presentation via written narratives

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in supplier management, technical marketing, strategic sourcing, or engineering
  • Strong Product and Program Management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • BS in Business or Engineering or related field.
  • Strong Negotiation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical knowledge and market expertise in Processors, Graphics card, FPGAs and /or ASICs
  • Experience on Business development and product management
  • Ability to lead and communicate clearly and drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong and talented team.
  • Experience managing technology and/or procurement teams
  • Advanced Engineering degree and/or MBA
