Principal, Project Manager - Behavioral Health

DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Global Benefits team is seeking a senior project manager to lead the implementation of key behavioral health initiatives to simplify and improve the employee experience, to drive greater efficiencies in cost management and process improvements, and to support our diverse workforce. The ideal candidate will have clinical psychological or psychiatric health services experience, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills, and be able to identify problems and develop solutions. Cross-team coordination, project management, and executive communication and presentation skills are required. This role is critical in executing behavioral health initiatives, and driving functional excellence and process improvement. This new role will also work closely with internal and external partners and participate in multiple key initiatives to enhance Amazon's global behavioral health framework. You will work in a dynamic, ambiguous and fast-paced environment with a team focused on healthcare strategy, reporting to the Principal for Behavioral Health Strategy.

This role is based in Seattle. Periodic domestic and international business travel is required.

Core Responsibilities:
• Manage, track, and communicate large, complex behavioral health projects and initiatives.
• Deliver on behavioral health roadmap activities and key deliverables, and meet deadlines.
• In partnership with global benefit managers, implement behavioral health roadmap and execution plans.
• Work closely with internal and external key partners to ensure that our behavioral health benefits programs and services meet the needs of Amazon and our employees.
• Implement standardized project management tools and resources.
• Prepare proposals and summary documents for senior leaders.
• Integrate state-of-the-art clinical science and best practices within the implementation of key initiatives to address the needs of Amazon's diverse workforce.
• Recommend innovative ways to improve behavioral health services.
• Continuously evolve programs and services to earn and keep employee and business partner trust and to deliver a positive employee experience.
Basic Qualifications:
• At least 8 years of experience delivering projects, demonstrating excellent project management, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• At least 5 years of experience with large-scale employee health plans and health services delivery.
• Robust knowledge of behavioral health interventions and best practices, and ability to translate knowledge into pragmatic solutions across diverse contexts.
• A proven track record of delivering large, complex projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills - ability to interface with all levels of the organization and influence business leaders.
• Strong internal and external customer service focus.
• Exceptional analytical skills, comfortable working with large amounts of data and communicating data findings.
• Experience with a dynamic work environment.
• Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy of discretion through ambiguous circumstances.
• Great organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Successful record of continuously improving program, efficiencies, and proven abilities to maintain cross organizational partnerships.
• Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, finance, HR or related field.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree
• 7+ years of experience in program or project management
• 7+ years of experience delivering cross functional projects
• 7+ years of experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior management
• 7+ years of experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
• Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
• At least 5 years of experience with large-scale employee health plans and delivery.
• A proven track record of delivering large, complex projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills - ability to interface with all levels of the organization and influence business leaders.
• Strong internal and external customer service focus.
• Exceptional analytical skills, comfortable working with large amounts of data and communicating data findings.
• Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; demonstrated ability to anticipate and creatively solve problems and resolve issues with practical and reasonable solutions.
• Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy of discretion through ambiguous circumstances.
• Great organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Successful record of continuously improving program, efficiencies, and proven abilities to maintain cross organizational partnerships.
• Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, finance, HR or related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed behavioral health clinician (e.g., Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist).
• Knowledge and experience in the practice of integrated care (e.g., Collaborative Care).
• Expertise in dissemination and implementation of behavioral health interventions.
• 10+ years of experience with healthcare or health plan and program development, administration and governance.
• Deep knowledge of employee healthcare benefit plan design, along with the associated complexities of plan administration, associated payroll processes, regulatory requirements and benefits program taxation.
• Experience influencing executives, in partnership with cross functional business leaders, to gain approvals on proposals and recommendations.
• Proven track record of working effectively with people across a large, complex organization to launch innovative, successful solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to work on cross-functional teams.
• Master's degree or higher in clinical, healthcare, business, finance, HR or related field.
