Principal Program Manager - Continuous Improvement, Finops

Have you led large cross-functional projects to increase efficiency and accuracy and reduce waste? If so, the Finance Operations team is the place for you. Our priority is to identify, scope, and deliver upstream systems and process improvements which reduce operating expense, increase free cash flow, improve customer experience and establish first pass yield process efficiencies.

The Finance Operations organization works with every part of Amazon to provide procure-to-pay, revenue-to-receipt, real-estate and facilities, operations accounting and operations excellence services with the highest level of controllership at the lowest cost to the company. We provide the backbone systems and operational processes which completely, accurately, and validly pay Amazon's suppliers, invoice our customers and report financial results.

This role will be a key member of the Finance Operations Business Partnership team supporting our Global Procure to Pay process. Our team is focused on building a better experience for our valued consumer partners. We advocate for improvements through technology and partnering with various teams to define, design, and prioritize those enhancements in the ordering, fulfillment, payment and dispute resolution processes with vendors and sellers. This position requires the candidate to diagnose current Amazon processes and metrics, identify opportunities, work with business partners to identify tools/systems improvement opportunity, and validate the improvement effort. You will be a key player of a team comprised of high performing operations excellence and finance professionals to drive upstream systems and process initiatives which improve the quality and accuracy of data used by Finance Operations to pay suppliers.

You will be responsible for identifying the opportunities across the procure to pay process, prioritizing the improvement opportunities and partnering with business and technology leadership to successfully execute global improvements. This role requires the ability to demonstrate ownership, interpret data, and lead through influence to deliver meaningful results translating to tangible productivity and efficiency gains across the Procure to Pay Process. To succeed, you must have the ability to engage deeply with diverse and talented business partners, earn trust using fact and data, and have a demonstrated ability to advise and influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication. This candidate must possess excellent analytical skills, project management experience, and a track record of delivering projects in a complex and ambiguous environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree
• 7+ years of experience in program or project management
• 7+ years of experience delivering cross functional projects
• 7+ years of experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior management
• 7+ years of experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
• Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
• Black Belt Training and Certification, preferably Master Black Belt
• Understanding and experience using SQL and ETL tools

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with performance metrics and process improvement and Lean techniques
• Supply Chain Experience
• Procurement, Accounts Payable, or Accounts Receivable experience
• MBA, CPA, PMP
• Proven Management experience leading a team within a rapid and abstract environment
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated in a fast-paced, often ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
• Excellent business judgment, analytical, and decision making skills to evaluate complex processes and financial scenarios
• Experience with optimizing operations and finance for cash flow, margin and productivity improvements
• Demonstrate a track record of problem-solving and analytical skill, and of achieving results in similar work or operational environments
• Ability to motivate self and partners to meet expectations when given a deadline
