The Role:
As a Principal Hardware Design Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, architecture and feature set of products used in the wearable devices. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You should have a good understanding of low power hardware design, system architecture down to the silicon and system integration.
• Design world class hardware
• Work with vendors to anticipate issues and address aspects of technology readiness and influence roadmaps decisions
• Interact with multi-disciplinary groups across the company for tight system integration
• Dive into and take ownership of critical design issues
• Participate in system design reviews
• Define new test specifications, methodology and test coverage to ensure design requirements are met
• Identify and validate product design risks and work with cross functional teams to mitigate them


• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or related fields or equivalent experience
• 15+ years of experience in hardware design, IC development within the consumer electronic industry
• 5+ years of experience in SoCs and/or silicon development
• 2+ years of system integration
• 2+ years of DFx (Design for cost, test, manufacturing)


• Proven track record of leading programs end to end system integration and development
• Experience in the area of health technologies and wearable devices
• Able to deep dive into reliability problems and resolve them independently
• Strong communication skills in writing and presenting
• Experience working as Technical Lead and willingness to inspire and motivate teams in ambiguous environments
• Experience with PCB/IC board design and layout
• Familiarity with silicon manufacturing process, including silicon qualification
• Experience with ARM and x86 ISA Expertise in at least one of the following areas: low power WiFi / BT / BLE designs, SoC analog design, Low power system design, sensor technology experience is a plus
• Experience with Hardware design tools for schematic capture with tool sets such as OrCAD Experience with PCB layout oversight using Allegro
• Knowledge of reliability and quality standards from IEC, IEEE, ISO, ANSI, ASTM and JEDEC
• Knowledge in the areas of compliance and functional safety will be a plus
• This position will require some international travel
