Mechanical CAD Designer

Job Summary:

AWS Data Center Global Services is searching for an experienced Mechanical CAD Designer to join our Team. This position will provide support to the Design Engineering Team through preparation of computer generated Mechanical design drawings from blueprints, hand drawings and other archive types. Candidates should be well versed in graphical communication for data center Mechanical engineering and construction drawings. The design documents will incorporate HVAC, Plumbing, and fire protection plans, details, elevations, & schedules. Candidates should have experience producing and maintaining permit and construction Mechanical Engineering drawing sets for large facilities (Data Centers, Factories, Hospitals, etc.).

Major Responsibilities

  • Create and update Mechanical drawings, standard blocks, symbols & Autocad templates
  • Assist the datacenter engineering team with datacenter as-built documentation
  • Ensure that all drawings are accurate and updated

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong AutoCad skills
  • Working knowledge of building engineering and construction technology
  • Experience taking drawings from conceptual design through construction documents
  • Demonstrated ability to produce accurate documents consistently and meet schedules
  • Excellent organization skills in archival & maintenance operations of project documents
  • Must have at least one of the following:
  • Previous data center experience
  • Large Project Revit (BIM) design experience
  • ME degree
  • 15 years of experience within CAD & Mechanical discipline

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience within Mechanical CAD discipline
  • Excellent team composure and ability to take direction from various teams and stakeholder
  • Able to prioritize work demands to meet project schedules / deadlines in a busy working environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data Center Professional Accreditation
