As a Learning and Development Specialist, your role will be to support the learning needs of all employees in Competitive Monitoring (CMT) team.

Amazon (and CMT) has seen rapid growth over the last few years and we plan to keep on growing. This means a lot of new employees to onboard, train, and develop. A lot of people to help stay curious and keep learning.

In this role, we are looking for a learning professional who has the ability and initiative to understand the business needs, analyse issues and influence solutions/outcomes. We are also looking for a team player who not only leverages his/her own team to respond effectively to a variety of training scenarios, but is able to work closely with the rest of the L&D team to effectively prioritize and deploy training programs based on customer need from training processes at scale to ongoing leader development.

This individual must be self-driven and have the capability and confidence to interface effectively with senior leaders and multiple stakeholders, both face to face (or virtually) and across geographies.

In this role, you will be essential to the growth and success of Amazon and our team members, from our hourly associates to our senior leaders.

Main responsibilities:
• Support creation and roll-out of Learning & Development roadmap that helps the business to scale and our employees to grow
• Design and develop learning solutions and programs applying adult learning principles and systematic instructional design
• Employ project management skills and tools to manage multiple projects from analysis through delivery concurrently
• Conduct needs analysis to identify key tasks/skills to target in the curriculum and perform post implementation evaluation on key performance and business metrics
• Manage curriculum portfolio to ensure accurate training materials and assessments from new hire onboarding through continuing education and role specific accreditation programs
• Execute on curriculum maintenance, review and implementation cycles
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional training delivery stakeholders and business subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify knowledge gaps
• Utilize recent industry experience to make appropriate design decisions
• Provide train the trainer sessions (classroom or virtual) to support implementation of training programs and deliver instructor-led classes and programs (in person or virtual)
• Ability to facilitate high quality learner focused programs, which have informative content and engaging learning techniques environment.
• Build and maintain strong business relationships, collaborating with the program manager, instructional designers, learning coordinator, other facilitators, and business leaders to deliver learning outcomes and address cross-functional issues
• Collaborate effectively across teams to roll-out scalable training solutions around leadership development and manager capabilities
• Develop highly effective training material, assessment and learning options
• Create and implement development programs to increase employee engagement and satisfaction
• Support the development of learner engagement strategies and evaluation plans


• A completed Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Learning & Development or proven experience working in Amazon
• Significant experience gained in Learning & Development (Certification)
• Excellent presentation and communication skills for the purpose of knowledge transfer and skill development - both in classroom and tutorial settings
• Ability to handle multiple projects, often with conflicting deadlines
• A track record of using data to develop business cases and decision making
• Proven ability to think creatively and contribute to process simplification/improvement at a team level
• Experience with project delivery in complex organizational settings
• Experience measuring and reporting on business impact of training initiatives
• Experience designing learning and development programs from the ground-up
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is required and ambiguity is constant
• Passionate self-starter, decisive and able to move with speed to implement ideas


• Industry certifications in L&D as appropriate
• Experience using eLearning development tools such as Articulate Studio/Storyline, Camtasia, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/Connect Captivate and other L&D Tools knowledge would be a plus experience likewise Thinking Cap, Kornerstone or others
• Familiarity with gamification, xAPI, online learning and learning technologies
• Experience in graphic and/or web design skills
• Experience with video design and development
• Proven analytical and quantitative skills and an ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause analyses
