Operations Technology Infrastructure team is hiring a Project Engineer!

Operations is at the heart of Amazon's business. We are known for our speed, accuracy, and exceptional service. Our buildings deliver tens of thousands of products to hundreds of countries worldwide, every day. Ops Tech IT provides nonstop global IT support to Amazon Operations as a vital piece to the puzzle. We are looking for self-motivated individuals to take on new challenges and motivate teams in fostering solutions to the hurdles we face. Together, we take ownership for what we do whether supporting IT infrastructure, developing new technology in-house, launching a new Amazon Operations facility, or delighting our customers by delivering packages directly to them. Ops Tech IT provides 24x7 global IT support to Amazon Operations, including Fulfillment, Sortation, and Last Mile.

We are looking for a strategic thinker who is passionate about IT and Operational Excellence, who thinks and acts at both local and global scale, and who has the ability to drive and deliver innovation.

The ideal candidate has outstanding business acumen, extreme curiosity, excellent analytical and technical skills, and the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams. He/she will have a strong bias toward data driven decision-making. He/she will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big (while paying careful attention to detail), and will enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment, understanding global Operations and their challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
• Identify, develop, manage, and execute analysis to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations with specific focus on automation and scaling.
• Propose and implement key business and operational metrics to manage performance.
• Manage and execute entire projects or components of large projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.
• Standardization and best practice global sharing.
• Plan, project and drive selected pilots and hardware/software improvements roll-outs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• BSc or MSc on Engineering based discipline (specialization on automation, continuous process improvement or manufacturing, project/program management).
• 5+ years demonstrated strong track record of team leadership or technical roles within an Operations, Manufacturing or IT function.
• Experience of complex operational processes, and continuous performance improvement projects.
• Experience across the full project lifecycle (analysis, design and implementation).
• Experience influencing cross-functional teams to deliver worldwide changes.
• Basic knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to evaluate complex processes and financial scenarios.
• Experience building and measuring key operational metrics.
• Project/Program Management Certification
• Ability to travel up to 50%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
