You will lead the global security incident response group, responsible for analyzing and responding to information security threats across Amazon and its subsidiaries. Your group commands technical and business response to major security incidents, and provides technical incident response expertise, including digital forensics and malware analysis. The group operates across multiple sites to provide continuous, follow-the-sun coverage.

You will have enormous opportunity to lead a global team of talented engineers, and shape how the the company responds to information security incidents. You drive long-term security improvements by using lessons learned from security incidents to influence product security roadmaps.

Responsibilities:
• Lead a globally-distributed group of Response leaders to ensure timely and effective response to information security threats
• Provide escalation support to your group, supporting risk-based trade-off decisions concerning important and urgent security issues
• Provide clear communications to information security and business leaders
• Ensure continuity of operations for security incident management through effective communications between the global nodes of the Amazon Security Operations Center
• Continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Incident Response program
Performance Management Responsibilities:
• Create a positive work environment in which your team can achieve organizational & personal goals
• Own all facets of team hiring, performance management & career development
• Provide technical & soft skill coaching to maintain a motivated, innovative & effective team
• Define and track key performance indicators for your services, and report on key results and initiatives being delivered by the team

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of industry experience, with direct experience in incident response and/or security operations
• 10+ years managing and building teams (including coaching and mentoring)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on translating technically complex issues into easy-to-understand concepts
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field or relevant work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience leading teams across remote locations
• Experience working with Legal and Public relations teams on security and privacy issues
• Experience driving effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple groups as part of response to security incidents
• Experience driving prioritization of security issues, ensuring that they are properly understood by the business, and influencing urgency of corrective actions
• Experience architecting/operating/securing Amazon Web Services
• MA/MS in computer science/related field
