Head of PR, Amazon Music

Description

Amazon is seeking a highly-intelligent, high-judgment, self-motivated, and creative PR professional with a depth of experience and/or interest in music and digital entertainment to manage communications for Amazon Music, including Prime Music and Amazon Music Unlimited. As the Head of PR, you will lead high visibility public relations initiatives for Amazon Music in the US, as well as collaborate with teams internationally. The ideal candidate will have experience managing communications with external audiences, will be passionate, creative and eager to learn.

This opportunity sits alongside the global communications team in Seattle, WA. It requires regular travel.

Core Job responsibilities:

§ Create and drive strategy, campaigns and high-level short and long terms plans

§ Drive Amazon's digital music narrative in the press and manage all external facing Amazon Music messaging

§ Act as the PR business partner and leader for the digital music leadership teams

§ Handle incoming press inquiries and create programmatic plans for proactive press outreach

§ Write press releases, pitches and PR plans

§ Manage PR agencies

§ Manage team budgets

§ Manage external speaking opportunities for Amazon Music leadership

§ Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

§ Bachelor's degree

§ 10 years of PR experience

§ Specific PR experience required in digital music, entertainment or consumer tech and/or corporate communications for a music or digital entertainment company

§ Experience managing media relationships, and a network of media contacts

§ Experience executing product launches, press tours, speaking engagements and driving an overall product narrative and PR plan

§ Experience media training execs and providing them with strategic communications council

§ Experience managing large budgets

§ Superior written and oral communications skills

§ Proven ability to use both strategic and creative thinking

§ Experience managing a team

§ Outstanding attention to detail, understanding of digital entertainment and technology as well as the ability to communicate complex topics effectively

§ Strong judgment and the ability to respond quickly, yet thoughtfully, to urgent PR matters

§ Experience working with international teams
