Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) Technology team builds systems allowing GREF's operations to scale with Amazon's growth. With the Covid-19 pandemic and as Amazon's workforce grows, both in size and geography, GREF's operations present new challenges. We automate manual processes and build new systems using a variety of OpenSource and AWS technologies.

To promote agile seating and address post Covid-19 scenarios, we are building a global desk reservation system and other technology to redefine working at Amazon. We will create a geo-spatial representation of all our corporate buildings and floor layouts to enable employees to select a desk with the required hardware in Amazon buildings.

We are seeking a passionate front-end engineer to design and build customer experiences for the next generation of real estate systems. The ideal candidate for this role will be a self-starter and is comfortable with ambiguity, and excel at building highly scalable solutions. They will own the design and implementation of major deliverables end-to-end. This position requires collaboration with fellow software engineers, UX designers, product managers, technical program managers, and partner teams, necessitating a comfort-level with ambiguity and a desire to create, iterate and improve. You demonstrate exceptional customer relationships skills and love to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests. You will provide technical leadership to the team and leverage your knowledge of the nuances, pitfalls and strengths of the various front-end development frameworks and associated best practices. You're determined to find the right approach, even if it's not your own. You believe in Agile development, quick prototypes and strive to see your work in action.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with object-oriented design
• 2+ years of professional non-internship experience with front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of software development engineering
. 3+ years professional experience building customer facing web applications
• Experience in one or more relevant front-end frameworks(e.g. React, Angular, Node, jQuery) and MVC frameworks (e.g. Spring, Rails, Struts)
• Knowledge of accessibility and usability principles, cross-browser compatibility, and HTML document architecture
• Proven track record in designing solutions and delivering features in agile environment
• Experience working in Linux environments
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language such as Java, C++, C#, or Python
Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
Experience with AWS technologies.
Demonstrate ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment.
Strong knowledge of CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithm design and complexity analysis.
