Front End Engineer

The Sortation Technology team is seeking a talented, self-directed Front End Engineer to design and build customer experiences. Sort Tech is used in over 3,100 facilities in Amazon's global transportation and fulfillment network, including FCs, Inbound Cross Docks (IXDs), Fresh FCs, SCs, Delivery Stations (DSs), Air Gateways, and Vendor/Seller Flex sites. Across these facilities, Sort Tech tools are used by associates and operations managers and help process over 30M packages and containers daily.

You will be a key member of Planning and Optimization team, and will be responsible for leading our efforts to build cutting edge UIs offering visibility of incoming volumes, management of dock operations, and a current-state view of sortation operations in facilities. We are a cross-platform, customer-obsessed team, working on big-bets in an innovative environment. You'll collaborate closely with UX researchers and designers, product managers, customers, and other SDE team members to help define the scope of the product. You will be counted on to be an influential voice in decisions related to front end system architecture, feature development, and product strategy.

The ideal candidate should have deep end-to-end front-end application knowledge, thrive in a fast-paced environment, an obsession to build the right products for our customers, and experience with highly responsive web applications.


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years of overall software development experience, with an emphasis on front end engineering
. Expertise in Front-End technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.JS, React.JS, etc)
. Understanding of software engineering practices, OOD, design patterns, data structures and algorithms


• Master's Degree or equivalent experience
• Knows how to instrument software with real user metrics to reflect the customer experience
• Proficient in a broad range of software design approaches and common UX patterns
. Demonstrated passion for user experience design and improving usability
