Financial Analyst, Video Advertising

Description

Amazon.com seeks a Financial Analyst to be a key partner for the high growth Video Advertising business. Amazon.com is continuing to build out its successful Advertising programs and we are looking for a highly motivated individual to perform analyses and produce metrics/P&Ls that will drive our Video Advertising initiatives such as live streaming and ad supported video content. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for overall metrics reporting/modeling and analysis during requirements planning and business reviews, product development, and commercial launches. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity; will have a passion for data and diving deep, strong appreciation for consistency in reporting, and dedication to providing insightful analysis in a fast-paced environment; detail oriented and has the ability to work well with cross-functional teams including sales, product development, technical program management, and software development.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining weekly/monthly financial metrics to provide timely information to senior leaders on health of the business, including ownership of the weekly business review meetings
  • · Performing ad-hoc deep dive analyses in conjunction with Product, Sales, and Engineering to understand the tradeoffs of different business scenarios and provide guidance on future decisions
  • · Uphold and enforce an environment of ethical practices and strong financial controllership
  • · Anticipate business requirements, trends, and variances; develop action plans; measure and analyze results; initiate corrective actions; minimize the impact of negative variances

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in business, finance, engineering or a related field
  • · 2+ years of relevant financial analysis experience
  • · Analytic, financial modeling or reporting skills required
  • · Advanced Excel
  • · Strong attention to detail and consistency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with SQL for data retrieval requests and analyses
  • · Experience operating successfully in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, and have the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives
  • · Independent and entrepreneurial showing the ability to work with minimal direction
  • · Passion for continuous process improvement
