Amazon is seeking a Field Maintenance Manager, HVAC/Refrigeration (R), who will support the program across their region. The right person for this job will be an entrepreneurial self-starter with dedication to seeing projects through to the end. You will have an eye for detail and determination to turn-over high-quality work. You will be an integral part of the team that works cross-functionally between Store Design, Store Operations, Store Construction, Tech, Security, Loss Prevention, and Amazon vendors. This position will closely manage the technical aspects of HVAC/refrigeration in order to ensure stores maximize equipment uptime and reliability. Critical to success is ensuring high quality maintenance and root cause of HVAC/R issues are determined. This position involves direct contact with both internal and external parties, and this candidate must have a professional demeanor and ability to communicate effectively with business partners at every level, including upper management.

Duties
- Maintains quality standards by inspecting installations and modifications of new heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) equipment and Emergency management Systems (EMS); ensuring contract compliance; and identifying and reporting deficiencies.
- Ensures working order of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) and Emergency management Systems (EMS), and direct digital control (DDC) by troubleshooting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing equipment through service contractors; overseeing major and minor preventive maintenance; and managing district workload with external service providers.
- Ensures financial sustainability by compiling and reporting budget information; requesting replacement equipment for Facilities; submitting warranty claims; reviewing journals and invoices; conducting price comparisons of refrigerant, parts, and travel related costs; and developing scopes of work for projects (for example, rooftop unit (RTU), condenser coil replacements).
- Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.
- Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Associates' degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field OR 2 years' experience in facilities management, construction management, mechanical maintenance, engineering, or related area.
• Ability to conduct financial business case analysis / translate information into useful formats and draw conclusions
• Familiarity with business process documentation and improvement
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads
• Able to work with technical and non-technical business owners/partners to overcome obstacles and deliver results
• Provide business decision support and participate/lead special projects
• Strong organizational skills
• Self-motivated, able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team as projects dictate
• Able to travel up to or beyond 50% based on project work load

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field
• Creative, critical thinker with advanced analytical skills
• Ability to work within an ambiguous environment and manage change
• Familiarity with business process documentation and improvement
• Provide business decision support and participate/lead special projects
• Self-motivated, able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team and cross-functionally as projects dictate
