Equal Employment Sr. Specialist

Description

As a member of Amazon's HR Risk and Compliance team, the Equal Opportunity Compliance Specialist, will support the creation and implementation of Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Programs and associated processes. The Sr. Specialist will provide compliance support and guidance relating to government contract compliance, OFCCP, Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action and related initiatives across various Amazon businesses and subsidiaries. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Support administration of Amazon's affirmative action program, government reporting, and related programs;
  • Partner with internal and external teams to ensure compliance with regulations and controls by examining and analyzing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation; recommending opportunities to strengthen the internal control structure
  • Define key metrics and conduct reporting and auditing to measure the effectiveness of controls
  • Prepare data summary and statistical reports for senior leaders
  • Assist with presentation of company responses to OFCCP and EEO requests
  • Provide training to recruiting, management, and HR staff on programs and policy
  • Identify areas for improvement and take ownership of implementing changes
  • Respond to questions from and troubleshoot program issues experienced by candidates, employees, managers, and HR
  • Conduct on-site and virtual compliance audits, draft audit reports detailing methodology, results, and remediation plans
  • Manage new compliance projects as needs arise in the US and globally

The ideal candidate is highly organized, works effectively with internal and external contacts, has the ability to shift gears at a moment's notice and enjoys the challenges of developing and improving processes in a dynamic organization. The successful candidate will also have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, superior attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of recruiting processes is essential to perform the role successfully. Person must also possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills, be comfortable working with large amounts of data, and possess the customer service focus that the world associates with and expects from Amazon.

Must be able to travel as necessary to provide training and audit support.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional or military experience
  • 5+ years of experience in HR with 2+ years in recruiting or recruiting compliance
  • Experience in MS Office including Excel, Word
  • Experience pulling and analyzing applicant data
  • Experience leading large, cross-functional projects
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree (MBA or HR)
  • Experience as a recruiter for a large federal contractor
  • Experience in iCIMS and Salesforce applicant tracking systems, running applicant reports, and developing system improvements to enhance compliance
  • Experience conducting statistical analysis of hiring activity
  • Experience managing or supporting EEO and OFCCP compliance
  • Strong analytical capabilities; experience working with large amounts of data and developing audit reports, metrics, and reporting vehicles
  • Expertise with Microsoft SharePoint, Excel
  • Experience developing and providing compliance training to HR and management
  • Experience in managing reasonable accommodations for candidates or employees
  • Customer service orientation with ability to serve multiple customers (business leaders and multiple levels of HR business partners)
  • Problem solver, able to troubleshoot issues independently or escalate when necessary - sense of accountability and sound professional judgment
  • OFCCP audit experience and responding to government requests for information
