Equal Employment Program Manager

Description

As a member of Amazon's HR Risk and Compliance team, the Equal Employment Program Manager, will support the creation and implementation of Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Programs and associated processes. The Program Manager will provide project compliance support and guidance relating to government contract compliance, OFCCP, equal employment opportunity, affirmative action and related initiatives globally across Amazon businesses and subsidiaries.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain Equal Employment Programs project schedule and deliverables timeline
  • Prepare and present project summaries and reports to senior leaders
  • Be the single point of contact for all project communication and deliverables schedule
  • Define key metrics for program success
  • Drive process improvement and project initiatives and take ownership of implementing deliverables
  • Partner with internal and external teams to deliver results
  • Support administration of Amazon's affirmative action program, government reporting, and related programs;
  • Respond to questions and troubleshoot project and program issues
  • Manage new compliance projects as needs arise

The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to develop project schedules to ensure timely deliverables, works effectively with internal and external contacts, has the ability to shift gears at a moment's notice and enjoys the challenges of developing and improving processes in a dynamic organization. The successful candidate will also have exceptional communication skills, superior attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Person must also possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills and possess the customer service focus that the world associates with and expects from Amazon.

Must be able to travel as necessary to provide training and audit support.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional or military experience
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects
  • Experience delivering project milestones and meeting project timelines
  • Experience in MS Office including Excel, Word, Project, SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree (MBA or HR)
  • 5+ years of experience in HR or recruiting
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager
  • Advanced experience with project management software such as Project and with Excel
  • Green belt or higher in six sigma and experience in lean practices designing and implementing systems, metrics, and programs that drive adoption and continuous improvement
  • Ability to develop and implement operational processes and procedures across geographically distributed teams
  • A self-starter, able to prioritize and deliver on deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to persuade, inspire and motivate others
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and generate innovative solutions in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Experience managing or supporting EEO/AAP and OFCCP compliance
  • Problem solver, able to troubleshoot issues independently or escalate when necessary - sense of accountability and sound professional judgment
  • Strong internal and external customer service focus
