Director of Sales & Business Development: Public Sector AWS China

AWS China is seeking a Director of Sales and Business Development for the Public Sector. You are chartered to grow AWS business in existing accounts and build new business in whitespace targeting public sector customers including government, education, healthcare and life sciences and state owned media. You will build a world-class organization with high efficiency and reach. You are chartered to develop the complete strategy, structure and build the team to achieve results, define metrics for success, directly lead all key customer relationship and own revenue attainment. You will work with the Public Policy team to secure better support from the governments in relevant projects.

Based in Beijing or Shanghai, reporting into the Managing Director of AWS GCR, the successful candidate will also serve as a critical member of the AWS GCR leadership team, helping to shape our Greater China growth strategy.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The right candidate shall have solid track record of sales and business development, deep knowledge and experience of selling and managing software license or subscription, and technology services. The candidate must demonstrate outstanding ability of communicating with senior customer executives (e.g. CEO, CIO, CTO), building trusted relationships, structuring and closing significant deals with customers across multiple industries. As a leader of a sizable major account management team, the candidate shall also have strong leadership and great skills in of building, developing, and directing team to accomplish revenue and business strategic goals.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Understanding of cloud computing concepts and major service offerings of AWS, Including elastic storage, computing and networking, modern analytics and AI/ML technologies, cybersecurity and governance, as well as customer journey of digital transformation.
• Over 20 years of government and enterprise selling experience in large multinational company. At least 10 years on leadership position in fields of sales and business development.
• Proven record in driving significant revenue growth, with prior multi-region sales management responsibility. Must have direct sales and account development experience to government/SOE customers for complex technology products/services.
• Education in science or engineering major, or equivalent. Secondary degree in business administration is preferred, though not necessary. Fluent Mandarin and English for business communication is required.
