We are looking for an exceptional design manager to join our team, in Beijing, China. In this role, you are responsible to drive content production in scale and the ability to keep pace with our explosive growth while motivating team members to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline-driven environment. This manager will be responsible for communicating requirements, project status, operational metrics, staffing concerns, and productivity issues to an internationally distributed team. The manager will have full accountability for setting and meeting operational goals; strategic planning and forecasting; assigning and directing work; appraising performance; resolving problems; development of staff and standard operating procedures. In this role, you will report into the Regional Manager of Global Production Solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
• Manage a team of designers and in charge of designing marketing and promotional materials (e.g. social campaigns, on-site/off-site designs and deliverables)
• Create user-centered designs by considering market analysis, customer feedback, site metrics, and usability findings; contributing to the strategy of future creative directions
• Leverage data to design the right analytical approach, uncover areas of business opportunity, deep dive into massive data sets to answer key business questions
• Interpret the results and develop recommendations and actionable steps based on the learning. Presenting written recommendations and insights to key stakeholders that will help shape effective strategies
• Develop smart algorithms to solve real business issues and customer pain points
• Present and defend design solutions with data and study result to leadership & business partners
• Collaborate with the Amazon design community at large to ensure consistent brand use across multiple marketing channels
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree in a Design, Business or Marketing related field, 5+ years of professional experience in managing design teams
• English written/verbal communication skills and collaborative skills
• Enjoy work with people, well collaborative in a team environment, clearly communicate to business partners, teammates, and stakeholders, and synthesize feedback from multiple teams/owners
• Strong data and process improvement skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
• Experience localizing creative content for international and global markets
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Industry experience in data analyzing or related specialty with a track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large data sets
• Specialization in machine/deep learning, natural language processing, and/or image processing
• Familiar with programming languages such as Python, C/C++, Java or Perl; Experience with Big Data Technologies
• Demonstrated strength in data mining, machine learning techniques and statistics
• Experience customer/user behavior analysis; Familiarity with using data visualization tools
• Ability to translate high level business problems into executable solutions
• Demonstrable track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment
• A desire to work in a collaborative, intellectually curious environment
