Position Title: Data Engineer III

Position Responsibilities:

Analyze and explain the performance of our robotic systems to Amazon's leaders and all our internal customers. Design and execute statistical models that help see into the future and predict the impact of new technology. Develop and implement analytics to drive decisions for Robotic Technology Development, Building Automation and Design, and Operations within the company. Collaborate with Designers, Software, Hardware, and Operations teams to understand product requirements and make feature trade-offs during the design and implementation of robotics technology. Develop key metrics and performance indicators to evaluate overall system performance. Develop warehouse performance monitoring and business intelligence solutions consolidating information across multi-dimensional datasets and multiple sources. Work with SQL, scripting and AWS big data tools to extract the data you need from our different sources such as Redshift, Oracle, Data Warehouse, etc. Evaluate and make decisions around data acquisition and retention, and the use of new or existing simulation tools.

Basic Qualifications

Position Requirements:

Ph.D. degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Finance or a related field and two years of experience in the job offered or as a Data Engineer, Data Integration Engineer, Business Intelligence Engineer, or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Management Information Systems, or a related field and five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to the Ph.D. degree and two years of experience. Two years of experience in the job offered or related occupation must include: making business critical decisions using data or a similar occupation; converting data analysis into tangible and significant real-world changes; experience in design of experiments (DOE) to confidently predict the impact and scalability of new technology; Data modeling, ETL, and Data Warehousing; writing and tuning SQL scripts; and Python Scripting.
