Do you want to work on exciting, cutting edge legal issues and help shape the face of Amazon's products and services? Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a lawyer, preferably with demonstrated regulatory or privacy experience, to support our rapidly growing and evolving Advertising business. You will work directly with product teams, providing advice on privacy, marketing, and other matters. You will also work directly with business development teams to negotiate strategic technology service agreements, resolve issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, and handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries. In addition, you will work other stakeholders as part of our engagements with regulators and policy makers.
The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. A background in privacy or advertising is not required but is strongly preferred.
Outstanding academic qualifications. Licensed to practice law in Europe, US or other common law jurisdiction.
Minimum 5 years of legal experience, with experience at a leading law firm or in house.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, as well as demonstrated proficiency in working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization.
Sound and practical judgment, even in ambiguous situations, and comfortable making high-quality decisions quickly and with limited information.
Ability to work independently and contribute successfully to cross-functional, global team.
Experience and familiarity with technology is required.
Product, privacy and regulatory experience is strongly preferred.
Ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines.
Transactional experience (drafting and negotiation), gained at a law firm or in-house at a multinational corporation.
