At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptional people. We are seeking a Category Analyst to join our North America Fulfillment Center Operations team.

Our Category Analyst will own the category analytics to create reporting and business process analysis. They will also lead KPI and metrics reporting, and depend and work with stakeholders to find and understand deviation and improvement areas. They will also support the assigned categories in the development and alignment of cost drivers, cost models, and reporting, to ensure visibility and tracking of savings vs. plan and agreed budgets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Align with the Category Manager to create and automate Procurement standard reporting for category related KPI to measure, control and benchmark procurement processes including creation of recurring metrics reports
• Create and automate Procurement standard reporting to establish visibility of spend patterns in all areas to support highest level Procurement negotiations and connect Procurement reporting to other business groups
• Align with Internal customers, Finance and Procurement Operations to understand budgetary targets and changes to develop an agreed method of measuring and defining savings, value and other category metrics
• Build the category metrics model based on input from the category team to track and monitor performance to the category strategy
• To measure actual vs planned savings and advise team of trends, escalate issues and own action plans
• To review savings opportunities and align with the Category Managers on the development of any corrective action plans
• Analyze RFx responses to build cost models, answer questions to support category teams
• Develop and maintain a commodity price tracker (eg steel, polymers, pulp, paper etc) to support the category strategy
• Manage and maintain supplier scorecards
• Category research to support category strategy and supplier relationship management
• Support the procurement teams to set up and maintain of internal item catalogues

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:

• 10-20%

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, IT, or related field
• 3+ years of relevant strategic sourcing and procurement operations experience in indirect categories, including professional services, support and maintenance spend categories
• 1+ years of experience in Oracle, MS tool suite and ability to learn proprietary systems
• +1 years of practiced analytical skills including the ability to distill, synthesize, and draw conclusions on large amounts of data

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management
• The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization/time management and problem solving skills
• Proven track record for cultivating strong relationships with key client and supplier stakeholders that have resulted in high customer satisfaction
