Alexa is the ground-breaking, cloud-based intelligent assistant that powers Echo and other devices designed around your voice. We are looking for a highly analytical and results oriented Business Intelligence Engineer to join the Customer Experience Insights team for Alexa Communications. Come join us!

As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will generate insights that will guide product, business and marketing strategy and directly influence what we build for customers. Data analysis is at the core of Amazon's culture, and your work will have a direct impact on decision making and strategy for our team. You will be, mining datasets, distilling complex questions into simple recommendations, and shaping how senior leaders make key business decisions. You will have the opportunity to work with one of the largest and most complex data warehouses in the world to gather insights using data. You will work with Product partners and define requirements to develop self-service reporting using Tableau.

This position requires high judgment, excellent analytical abilities and a sharp focus on improving the customer experience. If you are passionate about data, detail oriented, organized, and have a knack for systematically solving complex problems, we would love to speak with you!

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience as an analyst or engineer in the data/BI space
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with SQL


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in data mining and dataset preparation using SQL
  • 5+ years of experience in data visualization tools like Tableau
  • Experience in designing and building data infrastructure / automated reporting tools
Proven experience in BI/DW providing strategic research, recommendations, and implementation in both business and technical roles Familiarity with Amazon's cloud infrastructure including EC2, S3 and Redshift Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to explain technical concepts and analysis clearly to a diverse audience, including senior executives, and be able to translate business objectives into actionable analyses Experience with Python or other relevant scripting language Experience with relational database design and architecture Experience visualizing data in Tableau or other relevant data visualization software Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
