Here's your chance to join us as our Business Development Manager (BDM) in our AWS Public Sector Singapore team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of AWS within the Public Sector market segments.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a proven track record in software/technology sales, business development or consulting, have business acumen and be effective in communicating the value of technology in fulfilling digital transformation missions. The BDM will be an exceptionally strategic and strong analytical thinker who likely has IT business experience with a major vendor in the IT market and embraces all aspects of solution selling. Other responsibilities include:
• Build and execute the strategic business development plan to support government initiatives in Singapore
• Assist government ministry/agency in identifying use cases for priority adoption of Amazon Web Services as well as best practices implementations and ensure they are successfully using our web services with the technical resources required
• Develop Lighthouse Customers and build core Partners for the program
• Nurture opportunities and fill pipeline by active engagement with prospects, partners and key customers
• Facilitate strong relationships with key executives in the public sector verticals, policy makers, advisors and key partners
• Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development team to guide the direction of our product offerings for developers.


The Business Development Manager is someone with a strong Public Sector background and a deep understanding of technology, with a strong network within the Public Sector community and/or an ability to foster strong relationships with Public Sector stakeholders. This person should have good business development skills and experiences working with strategic alliances. Someone with strong customer facing skills and a demonstrated ability to think strategically about new business models. The candidate should also have a proven track record of influencing technology adoption through the partner ecosystem with program successes. Other requirements are:
• At least 10 years of experience in a world class consulting and/or technology companies developing new markets or selling software, hardware or consulting services
• Rich and diverse background of Public Sector, Health, Education and/or Research
• At least 5 years' of experience in public sector (e.g., government and/or education) market direct business, with good understanding of the Singapore Government procurement process and contract vehicles
• Natural business-technical person with an ability to influence a broad virtual team
• Positive, proactive and self-motivated with sense of urgency and follow through
• Excellent communication and writing skills
