DESCRIPTION

• Serve as a key member of the Analytics Specialty team focused on helping to drive overall AWS market and technical strategy for Amazon analytics solutions.

• Message how "Turn Data into Insights" with the relevant to business personas, lead business-outcome working backwards workshops, create financial business cases

• These analytics solutions span Big Data (EMR/Glue), search/log analytics (Elasticsearch), Data Warehousing (Redshift), streaming (Kinesis and Kafka), visualization/BI (Quicksight), and Data Lake (Glue, Lake Formation and Athena).

• Help define the AWS market segments, customer base, and industry verticals we target.

• Set and execute a strategic plan for target markets and ensure it is in line with the AWS strategic direction.

• Identify prospects/partners to approach while communicating the specific value proposition for their business and use case(s).

• Fill the analytics pipeline by engaging with prospects, partners, and key customers.

• Work closely with our customers to ensure they are successful using our native analytics services, and that they have the technical resources required to support their use-case(s).

• Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings for developers.

• Prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to closing new customers.

This position must be located at one of our U.S. AWS Corp. offices in the US West in Northern CA, Southern CA or Seattle.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of experience with go to market strategy, enterprise sales, or program/product management experience
• Bachelors degree required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Held business-side analytics roles such Director of Customer Experience, Director of Financial Planning and Analytics, Director of Retail Operations Analytics.
• Cloud experience (Azure, Google Cloud and/or AWS)
• Experience selling / positioning Teradata, Oracle Exadata, Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, Databricks, Cloudera, MapR, Hortonworks, Elasticsearch is preferred.
• MBA, Computer Science, and/or Engineering/Math background highly desired; working knowledge of software development practices and data center / infrastructure / networking technologies highly desired.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations is key
