The Fresh Creative Studio is responsible for the brand presence and creative content for customer experience, acquisition and engagement campaigns, and unique AmazonFresh programs and products such as Single Cow Burger. Our team of designers, producers and art directors work collaboratively with each other, with UX, and with our business partners to ensure customers have a cohesive experience with our brand across all channels, platforms and locales.

Who You Are

You are a hands-on Art Director with extensive experience in photographic art direction across a variety of subject matter (must include food) and business needs. You demonstrate a strong visual aesthetic, impeccable visual sense, and an ability to tell a clear and compelling brand story through the medium of photography. You have successfully demonstrated balancing customer insights and business goals with your creative vision to create inspiring photography solutions. You have experience producing cross both physical and digital channels, and the ability to set visual standards that can scale worldwide. You are a creative who inspires and influences others through your design deliverables as well as in the articulation of your decisions. You're excited by the opportunities and challenges of a growing a brand within the Amazon ecosystem of products and services in a space that intersects with other well known consumer brands.

As the ideal candidate, you are a relationship builder who cares passionately about creating an emotional connection with customers through brand. You get energy from fast-paced problem-solving and prioritization, and you are equally as comfortable firefighting as you are stepping back to see how to prevent further fires. Collaboration is in your DNA, but you aren't afraid prioritize, make decisions and communicate with authority.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leverage customer insights and market research to build and evolve the AmazonFresh brand through photography assets finalized to broad applications (digital, direct mail, social, out-of-home), and to define and document photography standards for AmazonFresh worldwide
  • Closely collaborate with Marketing, Product Management and Art Directors to define strategic objectives, deliver results and extend photography systems to be inclusive of new programs and products
  • Produce concepts sketches, storyboards and mood boards to drive alignment with partners ahead of shoots
  • Assist in assembling teams and talent including recommending and approving stylist, model and location choices
  • Oversee general productivity, performance, and accuracy of deliverables on set
  • Invent and simplify the creative process to increase capacity, including develop scalable styling and propping systems
  • Understand and respond to metrics and performance data to define or adjust creative approach
  • Present and rationalize your work to partners and executive stakeholders
  • Work with Creative Director to continually raise the bar for quality and excellence in creative output
  • Conduct regular outreach with other design teams at Amazon to ensure customers have a cohesive experience of our brand
  • Scope photography initiatives and prioritize competing work items while proactively managing own time and deadlines
  • Contribute to a design studio culture with maximum transparency both within the team and to our partners
  • Be a design mentor and an active participant in the Amazon design community
  • Maintain composure in critical situations and communicate clearly with both internal and external customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Art Direction with at least 2 years of experience in food-related photography
  • Bachelor's degree in design or equivalent professional experience
  • An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating applied photography systems and solutions across both online and offline channels
  • Bachelor's degree in design or equivalent professional experience
  • The ability to create digital and/or physical mockups
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills the ability to gracefully defend your design decisions to executive stakeholders and synthesize multiple points of feedback
  • Proficiency in a appropriate design tools
  • Ability maintain high quality and attention to detail in a fast-paced, iterative environment
  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries and manage ambiguity to define, manage, and prioritize work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience defining and evolving brand expression at global scale
  • Working knowledge of best practices in social media
  • Experience in multi-channel advertising
  • Grocery/consumables experience a plus
