The Sponsored Brands Recommendations team is a versatile environment, with a wide variety of challenges. We focus on helping advertisers by providing recommendations to help them achieve their goals. We look at mega size data from both retail and advertising space, and coming up with ML based recommendations through multiple products.

In this role you will:
• Research and built innovative machine learning models that impact customers in a meaningful and measurable manner.
• Perform hands-on analysis and modeling with very large data sets to develop insights that increase traffic monetization and merchandise sales without compromising shopper experience.
• Work closely with software engineers on detailed requirements, technical designs and implementation of end-to-end solutions in production.
• Design and run A/B experiments that affect hundreds of millions of customers, evaluate the impact of your optimizations and communicate your results to various business stakeholders.
• Work with scientists and economists to model the interaction between organic sales and sponsored content and to further evolve Amazon's marketplace.
• Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large-scale data analysis, machine-learning model development, model validation and serving.
• Research new predictive learning approaches for the sponsored products business.
• Write production code to bring models into production.

• PhD or equivalent Master's Degree plus 4+ years of experience in CS, CE, ML or related field
• 2+ years of experience of building machine learning models for business application
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in building Machine Learning solutions to solve real-world problems.
• Breadth and depth knowledge of machine learning algorithms


• Firm understanding in problem solving, algorithm design and complexity analysis.
• Passionate about researching and creating new machine learning solutions that impact customers and revenue in a meaningful way..
• Experience in building large-scale machine-learning models for online recommendation, ads ranking, personalization, or search, etc.
• Experience with Big Data technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive, etc.
• Published research work in academic conferences or industry circles.
• Peer reviewed scientific contributions in relevant field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
