Amazon is seeking an ACES Operations Manager to work within the NASC Amazon Customer Excellence System (ACES).

This position requires a candidate with the proven ability to drive process improvements & the ability to maintain impeccable quality levels in the face of explosive growth while motivating others to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline-driven environment.

They must be able to teach & educate managers and associates on the importance of inventory control & quality assurance.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Drive creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other Change/Six Sigma initiatives to enable their Functional Area and ultimately the Sortation Centers (SC) to meet and exceed Business Plans.
  • Measure the quality and transaction integrity accuracy while providing feedback to the operations.
  • Review and analysis of customer defect data with development of corresponding action plans to reduce defects.
  • Develop and execute daily, weekly & monthly action plans that decrease cost and improve service.
  • Plan for and identify root causes of delivery deviation through cause and effect analysis.
  • Teach and educate managers and associates on the importance of APEP.
  • Gain consensus to push change forward while keeping variation between sites to a minimum.
  • Will travel to other sites to evaluate and ensure compliance of initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • A completed Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years Management experience in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment
  • Cross-functional project management experience
  • Process improvement experience via Kaizens and use of LEAN tools
  • Experience using and communicating performance metrics
  • Candidates must be flexible to work weekends and/or overnight shifts
  • Travel up to 50% to North American Sortation Centers required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA preferred
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
  • Ability to lead, teach and develop associates and managers to deliver key organizational goals.
