Job Description

Allstate's growing User Experience and Design Group is looking for Senior Content Strategists who want to do innovative, challenging work in a flexible, fun, caring environment where they are treated with respect. The Content Strategist is responsible for overseeing all content requirements, and creating or overseeing creation of all content strategy deliverables (content audits, gap analyses, taxonomies, metadata frameworks, style guides, content migration plans, etc.) across the project lifecycle.

In the role of Senior Content Strategist, your strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills will allow you to lead digital work. Your work will support the overall marketing goals and business goals of our clients and complement the work of the User Experience and Creative leads. You will plan for the creation, publication, and governance of useful and usable content across digital channels. You should possess deep experience in the content strategy toolkit including crafting personas, mental models, gap analysis documents, competitive analysis documents, heuristic analysis documents, content audits, quantitative analysis, keyword research, social listening, taxonomies, and learning plans.

  • Create and implement content strategy processes, templates, and best practices decks

  • Manage your time under a variety of conditions
  • Inspire others with your enthusiasm and work ethic

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant degree, certificate, or background (user experience, library sciences, editorial management, branding and/or content production & management, writing) a plus
  • Smart, solid book with samples that show how you think
  • 10+ years as a content strategist, copywriter or digital content manager
  • Experience with Google Trends and Compete
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Qualifications / Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Smart, solid book with samples that show how you think
  • 15+ years as a copywriter or digital content manager
  • People management experience
  • Strong digital/marketing/advertising background
  • Direct-to-consumer digital knowledge a plus
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Four year degree, Master's preferred, in Computer Science or Digital Marketing
  • 10+ years of relevant experience within digital landscape, including interactive marketing function
  • 10 or more years managing/mentoring project or interdisciplinary teams
  • Must be a highly motivated and passionate leader in the Web Content area that thrives on developing peers and processes to create a top notch User Experience organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to quickly build rapport and establish credibility and thrive in collaborative work
  • Extremely strong communication skills and demonstrated success designing, planning and facilitating workshops/design sessions
  • Strong analytical and optimization knowledge and skills, including web analytics and SEO
  • Knowledge of several of the following areas is desirable: HTML, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, meta tagging, web page layout and design, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Proven experience in solution development life cycle methods, tools and techniques, using Agile principles preferred
  • Strong leadership, negotiation and influencing skills
