Job Description

The Protection Finance Reporting Center of Excellence (COE) is responsible for the accurate, consistent and timely reporting of financial results for the Protection business unit. This can include improving report integrity and continue to develop one version of the truth through improvements in execution and gaining definitional alignment across the department.

  • Lead and direct daily execution of the creation of large data sets into useful, actionable information
  • Facilitate achievement of business objectives with guidance from the manager and other leaders; while handling multiple deadlines, accountabilities, and challenging priorities
  • Use data, technology, business relationships and team members to develop informational reports, deepen client insights and recommend innovative solutions to guide strategy and operations
  • Build financial team excellence through coaching and developing analysts' technical financial acumen and business knowledge too position them for rotation and career advancement
  • Maintain the team's credibility and reputation for high quality (accurate, timely, relevant) financial analysis, reporting and consultation

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will serve as a financial advisor and authority in absence of manager, assisting Business Unit leaders and partners in a consultative manner and actively identifying needs
  • Collaborate with business partners to brainstorm new reporting concepts to better run the business
  • Manage client expectations and needs
  • Oversight of new financial report build, launch and implementation, including user acceptance testing
  • Coordinate with team members for scheduling of recurring reports and post-implementation validation
  • Guide overall team activities and execute performance management as front-line manager to support team priorities and timelines engaging manager as needed (e.g., staffing, performance management, scheduling and work flow, process/system improvement, quality assurance, scheduling, people and client management, conflict/problem resolution)
  • Build and maintain supportive team environment, enabling quality team interactions and deliverables (e.g., develop trust within team, set clear expectations, appropriately challenge team members, facilitate interpersonal conflict, celebrate successes and takeaways)
  • Advocate for new and improved process in building reports
  • Maximize talent through consistent and effective use of talent management systems, requiring standard methodologies that align with Protection Finance's Talent strategy

Job Qualifications

  • High-level understanding of the business and data
  • Strong passion for the work
  • Advanced problem solving skills
  • Advanced business knowledge (i.e.; deep financial skills/flow of the numbers)
  • Intermediate technical knowledge/data management (i.e.; data flow within systems, data mapping, meta data, etc.)
  • Advanced ability to create reports using a variety of tools such as SAP BW, Business Objects Web Intelligence and Microsoft Office software- advanced PC skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Experience as a business consultant in a finance related field
  • Highly skilled organizational, time and project management skills - manages through ambiguity, prioritizes multiple projects to meet business partner needs
  • Exposure to talent and people management skills – screen/interview candidates, deliver/document performance feedback, manage/address performance issues, identify High Potential talent, recommend promotions and provide career guidance and mentorship
  • Effective communication across multiple levels and mediums (e.g., group and one-on-one, leaders, peers, direct reports; translate financial information into concise and discussion points)
  • Bachelor Degree Required or equivalent/relevant experience
