Job Family Summary
The Allstate Environment Protection team provides capabilities associated with network, application, and infrastructure security controls and apply this knowledge to evaluate, test, and rate the effectiveness of these controls within the environment. Individuals in this space review and assess the potential risk of new industry threats, as well as implement and manage technologies capable of averting, detecting, investigating, and/or eliminating those threats. Individuals in this may liaison with other organizations to help with the collection and management of security data required for legal or investigatory purposes. This position may also identify and analyze business practice irregularities including various information seeking violations and infractions and evaluate potential damages or recommend cost-effective measures to prevent recurrences.
The Environment Protection Consultant supports the operation of technologies required for managing current and emerging threats. Individuals in this space execute documented processes and strategies ensuring the timely delivery of services.
Support one or more of the following activities associated with technologies and processes designed to protect Allstate from current and/or emerging threats: implementation, configuration, documentation, and/or operations.
Familiar with Architecture activities associated with technologies and or processes that impact Security controls.
Helps review and test for current risks.
Capable of articulating concerns around current and/or emerging threats, along with steps that can be taken to manage those threats.
Support the review and resolution of security incidents that impact the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of Allstate systems.
Support one or more of the following activities associated with complex technologies and processes designed to ensure Allstate is complying with Federal, State, and/or Company policies/regulations: research, evaluation, design, implementation, configuration,
Support efforts to analyze business impact and exposure based on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks.
Able to articulate and communicate about changes in the area associated with supported technologies and processes.
Provide support for forensic activities, leveraging others on the team to help drive investigations and e-discovery tasks.
Unix experience preferred.
Education: College Degree or equivalent work experience; work experience in security or risk management preferred.
