WEEKEND FIRST SHIFT - Friday thru Sunday - 10:00 am - 11:00 pm.

We are currently recruiting for a Storage Service Engineer Sr. Consultant to join our Network Operations Center. This is a support role with the following responsibilities:

  • Resolve complex or critical infrastructure incidents and problems. Ensure all related incidents and problems are appropriately resolved.
  • Lead efforts to analyze and resolve complex system/service incidents and balance the workload against incident priorities.
  • Escalate to NOC Consultants quickly when on ECC calls. Do not extend the incident. (NOTE: Our return to service goals are 45 minutes for Sev 1 and 2 incidents).
  • Adhere to the NOC / Enterprise and Local change policies and ensure that you subscribe to "one over shoulder" requirement, when making incident changes in production.
  • Support responsibilities include 24x7 rotational on-call support, troubleshooting, incident notification and resolution, problem management, post-mortem analysis, and root cause identification.
  • Support a production environment running approximately 40+ 7Mode and CMode NAS filers, 60+ SAN switches, and 20+ San Arrays
  • Support internal enterprise-wide users: troubleshooting and providing problem resolution for NAS and SAN Storage environment.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with internal team members, engineering teams, and field users in business offices and call centers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Provide focus and rigor around high availability incidents, driving the incidents which are user impacting, high profile and/or multi-application through to resolution, while communicating the status (outages and returns to service) to leadership.
  • Perform trending and performance analysis on incident data to identify potential problems.
  • Manage vendors' relationships and ensure that necessary escalation documentation, as it relates to vendor support.
  • Self-starter with strong problem solving skills and who has the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications/Skills

  • At least 3+ years of NetApp NAS CIFS,NFS and SAN experience
  • Solid understanding of SAN and NAS storage technologies and protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with SAN and NAS Storage systems:
  • SAN Storage Arrays: HDS VSP, EMC VMAX 40K
  • SAN Switches: Brocade DCX/DCX4-S, Brocade 5100, Brocade 7800
  • SAN Management: Hitachi Dynamic Tiering, Hitachi Command Suite
  • NAS Storage; NetApp FAS3260, NetApp FAS6240, Oracle ZFS-SA 7420
  • NAS Replication: NetApp SnapMirror, NetApp SnapVault
  • NAS Management: OnCommand v2
  • Exposure to SAN Administration including zoning LUN security and HBA configuration.
  • Experience with Sun/Solaris (UNIX), Red Hat Linux, and/or MS Windows Server 2008
  • Exposure in enterprise backup and data protection technologies

Preferred Qualifications/Skills

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or MIS, or equivalent support experience in a large datacenter environment
  • EMC Atmos (hardware)
  • DataDomain Appliance
  • Backup software: NetBackup 7.x, AVAMAR
  • Monitoring Software: HBSM 8, Virtual Instruments
  • Good verbal and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Certifications:

  • HDS Certifications: HDSQP – Storage administration
  • EMC Certifications: EMCSA
  • NetApp Certifications: NCIE, NCDA
  • ITIL Foundations
