The candidate will also have strong conceptualization ability, exceptional design skills, production value and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication and behavioral skills are also a necessity to be able to facilitate conversations with business and technical partners.
The candidate must be able to plan their own work while executing against deadlines. Other requirements may include creating project plans (related to user-centered design efforts); defining usability objectives (aligned with business goals); and planning, conducting and facilitating iterative evaluations of user interface designs.
The candidate will be a member of a User Experience team, but will be assigned to projects independently. Work will be reviewed by peers and senior leadership for quality. Project work is conducted within a multidisciplinary team including visual designers, researchers, front-end developers, project managers, business analysts, systems analysts, developers, solution architects, and business process experts. The initial project requirements are identified by the business. The candidate reviews the initial requirements and assists in identifying various usage scenarios and underlying user and business needs. If the requirements are not clear, the candidate will facilitate in articulating the requirements with the business.
Final deliverables may take many forms, such as wireframes, sketches or storyboards, click-through prototypes, and design specifications of various fidelities. The candidate should be proficient in numerous tools to facilitate this work, including (but not limited to) Sketch, Axure RP, the Adobe Creative Suite, and rapid prototyping tools like Invision.
The candidate for this position must have a well-rounded background with at least 5 to 7 years of proven experience in all aspects of user-centered design. The candidate will need to actively seek out information needed to understand the existing business processes and systems, which requires a clear sense of ownership for project assignments. He/she will need to rapidly gain a solid understanding of the end-user tasks and goals as well as demonstrate this knowledge while walking reviewers through these usage scenarios while clearly articulating design decisions.
The candidate must have experience designing experiences for native applications for either iOS or Android, and their portfolio must reflect strong examples of that work. Knowledge of both platforms is a plus. The candidate should be able to speak to their design philosophy for native apps and be aware of design trends in the native mobile space.

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in design, computer science, information sciences, psychology, human factors and or HCI preferred.
- 7+ years as a UX designer in highly collaborative environments
- Experience with complex transactional business models
- Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
- Expert in MS office suite and design programs such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Axure
