So, if you're ready to bring your best tech solutions to life - we're looking for a Full Stack Java Software Engineer who is ready to take risks and think outside the box as we look to transform the way the insurance industry operates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participates in iteration planning meetings ensuring that the team has a common understanding of each story and chores in a team's backlog
  • Participates in daily site, cross-site, and product team standups
  • Participates in retrospectives to gather feedback and derive actionable items to improve the team and the product
  • Participate in executing the strategy, keeping the customer needs and wants in mind
  • Collaborates within the team in designing systems and apps, in a heavily established paired programming environment.
  • Practices daily paired programming and test-driven development in writing software and building products
  • Establishes continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines and practices
  • Support software products in user environments
  • Participates in knowledge sharing, and contributes to the overall growth of the collective knowledge of the team
  • Uses strong communication, collaboration skills, and transparency while coding in a paired programming environment.

Education and Experience:

3 or more years of related experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Agile or SAFe certification
  • Java Software Engineering or other certification
  • XP-Extreme Programming cenrtification
  • Any of the above certifications, or similar ones, are a nice to have, not required.

Functional Skills:

  • Strong understanding of computer science concepts, object-oriented design principles
  • Experience developing software in different programming languages, and demonstrated ability to quickly learn new languages, including but not limited to Java (Spring) and JavaScript, ReactJS
  • Excellent Java and/or JavaScript coding background including familiarity with the following tools: Intellij-IDE, Github, Spring Framework, AngularJS or ReactJS or NodeJS, Microsoft SQL Server or Mongo DB, is preferred or similar technologies.
  • Experience in backend development design and implementation; database (relational, NoSQL, caching), messaging and big data development, implementation and optimization
  • Experience in responsive web front end / single page application development using modular JavaScript including apps targeted for mobile devices
  • Hands on experience on modern JavaScript tools such as Webpack, Babel, ESLint, NPM, and similar technologies.
  • Experience developing in a TDD environment writing test case using Selenium, Mokito, Junit or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge or experience with Agile XP or paired programming is highly desired.

Programming Environment Skills-highly desired:

  • Paired programming or Agile XP is highly desired.
    • Strong communication skills to transfer knowledge from one team member to everyone else on the team.
    • XP stresses the importance of the appropriate kind of communication - face to face discussion with the aid of a white board or other drawing mechanism.

Compensation offered for this role is $60,100.00-$102,625.00 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.
