Job Description

Job Family Summary:

The Data Integrity Group (DIG Team) is responsible for the management and oversight of procedures and controls that are designed to ensure that critical Investment Data is accurate and consistent across systems. There are multiple processes that the DIG team owns that are designed to help them achieve this goal. The Eagle Security Reference Master (SRM) tool is designed to establish and maintain a Golden Copy of Allstate Investment Security Master detail. By proactively validating data before it is propagated to downstream applications, the DIG team ensures consistency and validity to data across Investment Department applications. The DIG team is also responsible for the management of detective control applications, like the Data Validation and Control (DVC) applications. This tool permits the DIG team to canvas investment accounting and warehouse data for consistency and integrity prior to its use in financial reporting. The DIG team also employs a number of one-off tools and reports to ensure that Credit Rating, Pricing, Trade, and Cash Settlement data, among others, is represented accurately across our many Investment applications.

Job Summary:

The DIG Sr. Consultant is primarily responsible providing oversight to systems and controls that ensure that DIG Team controls are executed as per established guidelines. DIG Sr. Consultants are expected to have an advanced understanding of the Investment System Data Flows and be able to research and investigate data exceptions independently. Additionally, DIG Sr. Consultants are expected to be able to monitor and ensure that DIG Team procedures are working effectively and be accountable to make sure that they are updated when improvements can be made. DIG Sr. Consultants are also expected to provide reviews and oversight to ensure that SOX and FIB controls that are assigned to them are executed per their design and to alert management of any concerns or data anomalies.

Key Responsibilities:

Functional

  • Monitor day to day processes to ensure DVC and SRM exceptions are being resolved
  • Execute ongoing maintenance of DVC and SRM rules
  • Partner with Investment Finance Systems Support team on the resolution of CARR conditions and system changes to MAXIMIS
  • Partner with Investment Technology and provide feedback and requirements on System Integration issues
  • Review Trade Interface FIB Controls
  • Ensure conformance to SOX Controls
  • Ensure resolution of data exceptions within specified guidelines are completed and prompt escalation when needed
  • Own and be accountable of execution of responsibilities

Communication

  • Work effectively in a team environment
  • Provide status to Manager
  • Ability to work with all areas of Operations and Finance to resolve data anomalies and research issues
  • Participate on non-Banking and Balancing Team related teams and groups to promote cross-team knowledge and awareness

  • Advanced knowledge of Investment Systems and Data Structures
  • Advanced knowledge of Investment Compliance Functions
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook, Word
  • Advanced skills in OLAP Tools, SQL, and Data Mining abilities

Decision Making

  • Assess risks and deploy resources when needed
  • Advanced problem solving and decision making skills
  • Escalate risks appropriately and rationalize decisions to management
  • Prioritize workflows relative to goals and other deliverables

Experience/Education

  • 3-5 years of professional accounting or reporting experience
  • 4+ years working with relational data bases (Oracle, SQL Server, etc)
  • 4+ years working with OLAP tool (Crystal Reports, Micro Strategy, etc.)
  • Good SQL skills
  • Accounting/Finance Degree Required
  • CPA/CFA candidate preferred
  • MBA, a plus
